Sometimes it’s real nice to just kickback and watch! ☕️
Field of Command has a delegate command function, so you can leave your lieutenants and officers to fight their own battles, all whilst you deal with the priorities of leadership….
In my case that’s drinking tea and eating cake 🍰 😅

Caught some Germans trying to bathe themselves in the river this morning. No problem for the 2in Mortar though!!

This week I’ve been trying to find time to balance the game in time for the Nov demo release on Steam. If you like what you see check out fieldofcommand.com/
I've added taking prisoners to Field of Command.
As your men take ground, enemy units low on morale or ammo may surrender. You can then click to assign a soldier or two to escort them back to your base for interrogation.
Secured prisoners grant you extra intel (the currency used to call-in support weapons like artillery and airstrikes). High ranking officers from enemy HQs offer even greater rewards...

Steam page is coming soon, in the meantime head over to fieldofcommand.com/ for more info on what’s coming!
To achieve this I had to redesign the building system. Instead of your standard mesh object, each building is made of component walls and materials which layer up (wood, brick, plaster, tiles, etc. They all have interiors too!
Trying to improve the up close visuals in Field of Command, but finding animations really hard!
As you can see the lots of the men sort of float and slide a lot. It looks terrible!😅
Any tips / ideas from experts would be very welcome!

The next version of the game (v0.3) is making great progress. So far it includes:
- Dunkirk chapter + 3x new maps
- Large visual overhaul + new UI
- Destruction + new VFX
- Water system including boats
- New headquarters system
- Placeable fortifications
- Massive performance upgrade (like 10x)
As part of the rebrand and move to desktop for Field of Command, I’m revamping all of the menus and UI.
Swipe for new vs old ➡️
The old style had character and warmth but the we need to move on. It’s clear from feedback players want better, cleaner UX!
