$RKLB / $IRDM - Iridium price target lowered to $52 from $54 at Clear Street
Clear Street lowered the firm's price target on Iridium to $52 from $54 and keeps a Hold rating on the shares following the Q3 report. The reduced target reflects Iridium's capital structure after the Aireon consolidation rather than a change in the core business, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Clear continues to believe Rocket Lab's (RKLB) pending acquisition of Iridium makes strategic sense for both companies.
$ASTS - AST SpaceMobile launch schedule updated:
Chris Forrester is the author of this article. He is a veteran British broadcasting, satellite communications, and media journalist, as well as an industry consultant. He is one of the most widely published trade correspondents covering the commercial space, satellite operator (GEO/LEO), and pay-TV sectors.
I wonder if he talked with AST recently and put this out: 👀
AST’s BlueBird rockets #14, #15 and #16 should launch later in October.
AST’s BlueBirds #17, #18 and #19 will ship to the launch site and launch later in November, on a Falcon 9.
BlueBirds #20, #21 and #22 should ship from their Midland factory and launch by mid-December.
BlueBirds #23 – #27 are said to be ready to ship by late-November and launch by year-end.
The 2027 schedule suggests the following ambitions:
BlueBirds #28, #29 and #30 should launch by mid-January
BlueBirds #33, #34 and #35 could launch by early February
BlueBirds #36 – #43 to launch by early March.
BlueBirds #44, #45 and #46 to launch later in March, and hence wrap the ambition for 46 satellites in orbit by the end of Q1 2027.
"The total target is to have 243 satellites in orbit by the end of 2028 and thus supply a true global service. 90 craft are needed on orbit to commence a global services, says AST."

$ASTS - Deutsche Bank believes AST SpaceMobile should be worth $160/share by 2030 but that is assuming only 20% growth y/y.
Industry analysts project that the broader Direct-to-Device (D2D) and satellite mobile connectivity market will see compound annual growth rates (CAGR) between 22% and 30% over the next decade.
Bloomberg consensus thinks AST revenue growth will be 2-3x the rate cited by Deutsche Bank
Anyway you cut it, AST is dirt cheap here.
$ASTS - Even the AST SpaceMobile permabear has flipped and gotten bullish now…
Peter now sees the strategic value on working WITH global MNO’s rather than against them.
😎
Owning spectrum without owning the customer experience is just another pipe. The real battle is about who controls the entire connectivity ecosystem.
That’s why I believe it’s only a matter of time before MNOs form a global consortium and make a play for AST SpaceMobile. Its strategic value to the industry are worth far more than its chances of AST succeeding on its own.
Owning the satellite network and spectrum is the next logical step toward controlling the customer experience.
