SIMD-0525 mission accomplished: 200ms slots are now live on mainnet-beta. Blocks land twice as often as they did at genesis. An epoch now takes about a day instead of two. IBRL

The Alpenglow feature gate is active on testnet. The 5,000 slot countdown is running, ~17 minutes to the migration boundary. At the boundary: validators confirm the final TowerBFT block at 82% of stake, then Votor takes over on testnet. Alpenglow testnet genesis block incoming.

We were participating in #Solana Alpenglow test cluster since its initial genesis through every restart and re-genesis along the way. Proud that our contribution is helping to achieve this significant milestone.

Alpenglow is coming to testnet this week. 🧵 Testnet exercises the exact migration devnet and mainnet-beta will run. The Alpenglow community cluster rehearsed the migration numerous times and has been running Alpenglow for over 4 months.  Now Alpenglow moves to the formal activation path.

250ms slots activation now pending on mainnet-beta. 400 → 350 → 300 → 250ms Reminder, SIMD-0525 features take effect one epoch after they activate thus will go live at the epoch 1037 boundary ~05:01 UTC, Friday Sept 18. - epoch 1035: pending activation - epoch 1036: feature active - epoch 1037: 250ms slots live 1 more step to 200ms.

Congratulations to @monad team and everybody in the validator fam. This was a 3-stage upgrade process by validators. Thoroughly tested on testnet 1 month prior to the Mainnet rollout. All executed seamlessly!

MIP-8 is live today on Monad mainnet! MIP-8 addresses a huge inefficiency in how state is stored in the EVM, by assigning contiguous slots to the same disk page, thus making lookups of multiple contiguous slots MUCH cheaper Now each chunk of 128 slots only costs one lookup, how it always should have been Monad is addressing fundamental inefficiencies in the EVM execution layer. This is the first big one since the launch of mainnet, with many more to come
