Someone on Reddit built his wife a job search app.
She is a junior software engineer, and her job search had dragged on for almost 10 months. Tailoring a resume for every posting took ages.
So he built Dossier. It finds postings, then writes a tailored resume, cover letter and email for each job, using only facts from her profile.
It tracks every application from draft to offer on a board, and it runs on your own server, with a local AI model option, so your data stays with you.
She landed a job with it, so he open-sourced it for anyone in the same spot.
It is free at github.com/AienTech/dossier.

They will kill him with hammers for this but he's 100% in the right
We should be automating the stuff no one wants to do so they can focus on the stuff they actually care about, if you need a dev alignment every time you want to move a box, that costs time and money

"What was your biggest impact on the internet?"
Wouldn't call it big (but was for me) but seems it helped a lot of people before the recent format changes.

Our feature artist/reference for today is this BRILLIANT lesson on LIGHTING by the talented @Shouty_y! The two approaches here show that in art it's not about RIGHT and WRONG, it's about discovering ways to ENHANCE your art through SMALL CHANGES! #manga #anime #digitalart #PAINT

this seems like a good and simple way to do a character sheet for tactical OCs, gonna keep this as a reference for future drawings or commissions

my low hanging fruit checklist for code performance optimizations:
- is it sequential? can we parallelize/make it concurrent?
- can we increase concurrency? what is the trade-off?
- how many passes is it doing? can we do it in fewer?
- how many allocations is it doing? can we do fewer?
- is it batching? how big are the batches?
- is it batching? can/should we stream it?
- are we awaiting too long? can we do stuff in the await?
- can we early exit?
- how many threads are we spawning? too many? too few?
- are we using the right DSA? how is data stored in-mem?
- how many i/o calls are we making? can we make less?
