My intention is not to rub salt but provide clarity after a loss that I’m sure will leave people frustrated and confused.
I think a lot of fans let post-playoff excitement color their view of how they watched this Year 1 Napier team. This is probably the least talented team JMU has fielded during the FBS era. That’s a high bar to clear, and there’s no shame in having an incomplete roster after what the program went through last offseason. Frankly, it’s the norm.
The fact that it got to 7-0 was (and still is) impressive. I think if you offered me 7-2 on Aug 1, I’d have taken it.
Not every year is a CFP year, and this was clearly not a CFP team. Watch the defense last year; watch it this year. Cmon.
It’s time — past time, really — to reset the expectations.
I still think JMU can win the Sun Belt. But IMO, fans should be calibrating toward growth, not conquest. Roster analysis and building back toward being a Top 25 team in ‘27. This year, it is not that.
If you ever thought it was, then respectfully, I would suggest that you should watch more football.

If the goal for an outlet is to only report on the positives of a program, never criticize or never report and take direction from the school then it is not an independent outlet and rather a PR mouthpiece
Replying to @JMUSportsNews @lut46895
Why make this info public if JMU is keeping it under wraps? Doesn't seem like a great way to win over the fanbase or get media credentials back. Love y'all but if this is false it's a bad look for you, and if true youre informing opponents which is also a bad look. Why post this?

What was the best year? I’m 33 and my answer is 2016
Not even from a personal perspective. Just feel like 2016 was sick

Every autumn, we fall in love with the undersized and undergunned college quarterbacks.
Every winter, we see big dudes with cannons for arms go to the Super Bowl.
Every spring, we draft the undersized and undergunned college quarterbacks anyway.
Per @Jordan_Reid, there is disagreement among NFL evaluators about Julian Sayin's upside.
"I liked his tape, but the traits are just so limited in a near-perfect setup of surroundings, and you saw that in the playoff," per an NFC scout.

Victor Wembanyama is such a bitch. This is the sort of thing that makes him a bitch. Especially when he’ll cry for any foul.

“IT’S OKAY TO MAKE IT HARD TO GET TO THE PLAYOFF!”
NEW: Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko on College Football Playoff expansion talk:
"What does Mike Elko want? 40. Then I won’t get fired. It's ok to make it hard to get to the playoff."
Elko continued: "None of us are answering for the good of the sport. We’re answering for the good of ourselves."
