Everyone knows Wahu. Her home near Race Course spoke loudly. Edna Clarke, the Mzungu's wife. Mbiyu's sister Wanjiku who died while getting a baby in 1950s. Then Ngina.
Jomo Kenyatta had 4 wives, and Mama Ngina is the only one we know of. Didn't the other wives have kids with him coz we only know Uhuru Kenyatta?

It started in 1992, not 1995. We went home for a year because we demonstrated against the withdrawal.

The boom & govt jobs ended in 1995. That was the lot that sat for KCSE in 1990. The youngest was born in 1972 but most were born in 1970 or older. Boy 1996, Pay-As-You-Eat was in place. HELB was also in place and loan was not guaranteed. We've written abt the real beneficiaries.
There is a generation born between 1965-1979 called the gen x ,that doesn't get the recognition they deserve as the architects of the problems Kenyans are facing . This is the generation that found 100% university funding and ready government jobs . This are the people who were hired into the civil service with just form 6 certificates . This people are fiercely tribal , corrupt and religious at the same time . This people climbed the ladder and cut it below them to make sure nobody climbs it. With the help of millenials they have made existence unbearable to everyone else. This is the generation that will not leave a job even if they become billionaires .

It's a matter of when, not if for Michael Carrick. Before season began, many spoke confidently that Man Utd will challenge the title. Now they are teetering towards relegation.

And all we are doing is cutting trees.
It is oppressively hot in Nairobi. People are going to run Stanchart marathon in these conditions? Brave souls. Heatstroke is a worry. I hope organisers will have water stations and ambulances, medics everywhere. I'd even get water cannons to shower runners with water.

NYS has been doing this for decades. I'd think about a free expressive space. Sleep in if you want. Play bano, ndama or bao if you want. Heal. Go to gym or field when and ant time you want - midnight or 6 AM. Have limited organised activities which are creative and motivating.
Business idea , build a "highschool" somewhere in the middle of nowhere. With dorms ,mess halls ,classes and huge modern gyms . Admit men for a month where they live just like highschool but we foccus on fitness nutrition and skills . Wake up at 6am and go for a 5km run ,come back shower and go for breakfast. Nutrion ni high lean protein low carbs . First lesson ni basic plumbing ,mechanics then some Ai skills . After lunch ni gym .Then jioni ni entertainment na phone time . Kulala by 9pm . The next morning ni swimming by 6am , then lessons , music instruments and then nature walk . We would even have animals cows ,goats and chicken for them to take care of . All meat they eat they must slaughter themselves and chop the fire wood by hand . Hapa ukitoka hiyo mwezi ukue na skills na a good routine. When men stay together their testestrone goes up .

The entire NCA Nairobi region has 4 engineers. How can these guys be able to check compliance for over 500 ongoing projects- its a big joke. I am also reliably informed there are engineers and architects who have over 100 registered projects. How are these guys managing these projects on a day to day basis? We need to have the difficult conversations.

Karen Nyamu: I recently tried to help a very staunch campaigner of mine join the police force. Tukakarabati (we forged) a form 4 certificate. She went to Kiganjo for training, but after investigations, she was arrested for forgery alongside 17 others. #ThePeoplesBreakfast #HomeOfHardTruths @ctmuga & @mungalambuvi

Because the rest are insolvent and Moi has COLLAPSED. In simple terms, all public universities are unwell and admitted in hospital. Moi is on life support. The rest are in normal wards.

All our big public universities are insolvent but only Moi University's insolvency is blamed on tribalism 😂

It's tragic. The same medocal conspiracy theories dominate academics social media groups. The loudest are people outside health. We have respected epidemiologists but they just watch the spectacle.
I’ve reported on Ebola for over a decade (& health for over 20 yrs) so I’m not usually surprised to hear disparate theories about disease outbreaks. But recent posts by a number of Kenyan thought leaders have left me dumbfounded. Here’s Dr Wandia Njoya, a university lecturer:

Gubernatorial? MCA at best.
Geoffrey Mosiria didn't just break Law 1 of the 48 Laws of Power, he threw the whole book into the Nairobi River. But.. had Mosiria resigned in 2023 and openly pursued his gubernatorial ambitions, he might have earned the trust and votes of many Nairobians. Instead, he waited until he was sacked now to start lamenting. The optics are terrible: it looks less like a principled political stand and more like a grievance triggered by losing his job...

My friend's dad**
My dad's friend is 86. They lived in one of those camps in Ngong, Matasia. When he was undergoing the rite of passage, his handler was from different village, Oloolua. His mother had to obtain movement permission for the handler from colonial DO.

If you know Matasia and Oloolua, it's like getting permission from DO to move from Eastleigh to go to Kimathi.
