Been thinking about my silly Kantai Collection lore again. The game itself never really had a story, so you could kinda just make up whatever you wanted that fit within the bounds of the mechanics.
What if the Abyssals appeared in 2013 and wiped out 90% of ships in under a year, totally halting all maritime trade for several months until Ship Girls could begin escorting convoys? Just how bad would things get if ALL oceanic trade stopped? If no one could get food or fuel or equipment, because leaving harbor had become a death sentence, and the weapons we had were not ready for the sort of threat that had appeared, let alone the numbers...
How bad would things get, and how long would it take to adapt and try to recover? How different would the world be in 2026 after 13 years of fighting Sea-Aliens, and the fallout of never quite getting a decisive victory?
I want to get back into drawing, but I’ve just not been setting aside the time to just do it.
I’ve wanted to get a display tablet, but I can’t justify it to myself. I don’t draw enough as is, so why should I spend a bunch of money on something like that.
A new tool can always be useful, but it just becomes an expensive toy when it is left unused.
So far all the expensive things I’ve been buying, flashlights and multitools and such, I’ve been using frequently. A display tablet would be cool, but I worry at what frequency I would actually use it.
I think I also just miss the old online drawing culture of a decade plus ago. Drawing silly dumb things anonymously, goofing off for fun and sharing your silly drawings with each other. Tumblr and Twitter seem to have rotted that out over time.
