Apparently some of these people are saying we need traditional Christian values + popular socialist policies that will appeal to the mongrelized masses. No one has tried this before.

had lunch w a young tech savvy analyst at Point72, Steve Cohen's fund, the one Billions is based on
what they call a pod manager (PM) takes a cut of whatever his book makes, something like 15%. he put the odds of making junior PM at 10 to 20%. a junior PM is eat what you kill, anywhere from 1 mil to 8 figures. i'd say those odds are comparable to a first-year associate making non-share partner at Latham, where they make about 1.2 mil
a semiconductor PM made hundreds of millions last year. the very tip-top lawyers make 40 million
i had heard that these hedge fund types can sometimes have the best years of their career in their 20s, before they make some bad moves. he disputed this and said nah, you can still get a job
data is at an absolute premium bc of what AI can do w it, and ppl are paying a lot for it. every credit card swipe, everything you can imagine, is being collected. consumers blow more money on the weekends, so on monday morning he trades like a madman
the trade is a spread. say you're short the worst chip stock and long the best chip stock. if the whole sector misses, the worst one falls more than the best one. if the sector rips, the best one rises more than the worst one. either way the gap between them widens in your favor. the gap alone doesn't return much, so they lever it up
he scoffed at the idea that AI is replacing him. he's reading data just like the analyst before him, but now he's reading AI's aggregated data. AI only knows what's already out there. his job is to predict what's going to happen
the rebuttal i didn't lob: how long before AI can simply do all of that instead of you? then again, there's always room at the top. and now the top is levered by AI
when the topic of how good AI has gotten came up, he said the models he and i are currently using were being tested by the frontier labs in february (lends credence to listening to their projections). he noted that K&E is hiring for on-prem GPUs (its own data center). he said wrappers are using Kimi and DeepSeek bc it's cheaper. personally, i highly doubt anything competes with Fable
he recommended that i use Cursor
nepotism works the same as big law. daddy is a client that spends way more than your salary
they have a sick office in Hudson Yards w baristas handing them coffees and smoothies. they can order food from ANYWHERE they want for lunch, but he's not sure how far he can push it. so he settled for Chili's, which i tried to ignore
he was shocked by how many of the ppl are on amphetamine salts

The mythical “29-year-old white guy who refuses to work & spends all day gaming in his mom’s basement” isn’t the one draining the welfare system.
He’s statistically nonexistent.
But guess who does commit welfare fraud on a massive scale & the GOP is too cowardly to name?

If your AI characters sound fake, the fix is almost always in how you write and DIRECT the dialogue in your prompt.
I recently started on the dialogue-heavy scenes for my AI feature film about Beethoven, and too many of the lines kept coming out wrong.
They’d sound too theatrical, too monotone, or too much like a practice read-through between actors.
(all this despite the fact that Seedance 2.5 is fantastic when it comes to realism.)
So through a whole lot of trial and error, I've found that these 5 things made the biggest impact on the quality of the dialogue delivery in my generations:
1. Paying close attention to the written punctuation used.
2. Breaking long lines into shorter ones, with intentional pauses.
3. Using bodily actions as punctuation (this one gave the biggest improvement BY FAR! In the attached clip, note the sniffles in between Beethoven's lines. That alone made the delivery feel much more natural.)
4. Using "anchor gestures" (he lifts his finger as if to say "one sec")
5. Just split your generations in two (stupid simple, but it really makes a difference.)
So if your characters keep sounding like they're reading from a teleprompter, give this a try!
This is nuts man

Long post worth the read. I have a close friend who flies private jets. He flew Lear 60 for over 15 years and now flies a Gulfstream. This is a copy and paste of his response to me asking him if he thought Ice was the issue.
“We always fly in ridiculous cold temperatures.”
“Usually you get the bad ice when the temperatures are like 0 to negative 20. Believe it or not, there's a point where it gets too cold for ice. At negative 40, you pretty much can't get ice. Besides that, the airplane is equipped with hot wings and hot tail.”
“I flew the Lear 60 for like 15 years. It's a no joke airplane and probably the most dangerous airplane I've ever flown. It has a super critical wing. The airflow has to be perfect. When it gets into rough air and turbulence, it will easily stall. It has stalled on me at 41,000 feet just because we got into some turbulence. (On the way to Palm Beach as a matter of fact. ) we recovered and got her flying again around 30,000 ft. Scary
But here's the problem. This airplane has a terrible coffin corner. (At high altitudes) what that means is, you fly in a really narrow window where if you lose 20 knots, it stalls. And if you gain 20 knots, it goes into overspeed. The air goes supersonic over the wing and it goes into a high speed stall, or worse, a Mach tuck.
So if you stall, the normal recovery is to push the yoke forward to lower the nose and gain air speed again. At low altitude, you can push really hard and recover quickly. But in the 60... if you push hard, it will gain air speed and go into a high speed stall, it doesn't take much. It's very sensitive. The 60 has super short wings that don't make much lift. So then you high speed stall, and the computer is yelling at you... OVERSPEED! So then you pull back and enter a low speed stall. And you go back and forth trying to keep it in the air speed window.
This whole thing is pretty scary. And you should recover basically by using your finger tips using super small corrections. You can't over do it. If you try to muscle the recovery, she gets mad and will become unrecoverable. If she enters a mach tuck. You're done.”
“I taught the Lear 60 to other pilots and mentored them. I told them... this airplane has a soul and it's trying to kill you. Do not ever try to top the weather. Don't go over a thunderstorm. Go around it. If it means a half hour longer, then do it. Going over the thunderstorm will go into turbulence that you might not recover from.
These pilots went right over a thunderstorm. I think it stalled which caused them to drop down into the thunderstorm and ended up in mach tuck. They picked up so much speed that it ripped off the horizontal stabilizer. At that point... chuck Yeager can't fix it.
These same pilots did something similar a couple months ago. ATC got mad at them. They poked the bear one too many times.
This is not a beginner airplane. The Gulfstream would never do this. It has HUGE margins of error and won't stall like that. But then again... it's got HUGE wings. It's a pussy cat.
The Gulfstream is like driving a 4 wheeler. The Lear 60 is like riding a uni cycle.”

Dear Donald Trump, @realDonaldTrump
I am writing to you from Australia to send my strongest support. I wrote a few weeks ago to wish you the very best for the midterms, and I sincerely hope you win in a major landslide.
While you have immense support across the globe, I am writing today out of deep concern. The prospect of you losing power is deeply worrying because you are the one holding the West together. We simply cannot afford to lose your strength and leadership right now.
Please know that you are a vital beacon of hope for so many of us. We stand with you completely and send our unwavering support from across the ocean.
Best wishes,
From Australia
To all Americans who love President Trump,
November 3rd has finally arrived.
Now that we’ve come this far, let’s stop thinking about the possibility of losing.
While you’re out voting, please prepare a celebratory toast.
The Year of the Fire Horse is also reaching its climax.
Please accelerate the Trump administration.
I humbly request this……(u_u)
