Semiconductors, stocks, scifi, and smallfry, from a serendipitous sell-sider settled in sunny SoCal. Apparently 65 in a 45 zone. Also banana tweets.

How to Succeed on the Sell Side
Might be a bit stream-of-consciousness, but I thought a "How to Succeed on the Sell Side" thread might be of interest. I'll leave it pinned, and add to it as warranted. Please feel free to comment or disagree. This is stuff that has worked for me, YMMV. In no particular order:

10yo decided he wants to 3D print chain mail for Halloween costume this year. We’ve been printing out all these pieces for over a week…

My original Burbank flight now delayed to 7:10pm but just touched down at lax
Got standby on flight to LAX. Last row but at least an aisle, and will save me at least 2 hours of this delay. Aaaannnndddd….we’re off!

I hate to be the one to burst the Tesla bubble today, but the spectacular “flight” we witnessed at the Roadster reveal needs a little context. The car is carrying around 250kg of compressed air, plus the weight of the tanks, valves and thrusters needed to contain and release it. Based on the published figures, that gives it roughly 1.5–2 seconds of maximum thrust before the system needs to be refilled. In short, it's a gimmick.
