thread, with link to report, on the Edinburgh Fringe and issues of sustainability, equity and representation
You might remember the #FutureFringe campaign we ran w @GreenHouse_BI financially supported by @edfringe in August 2020. It encouraged Fringe stakeholders (venues, companies, freelancers, locals, participants, audiences) to consider how the festival can be improved for the future

We were delighted to contribute to this working group, considering how acess at the Fringe could be improved - amongst other things. We took part in some very interesting chats and highlighted areas where work needs to be done. This report is very much a beginning of a process.
Data from the original survey showed a need to improve the diversity, sustainability, accessibility & fairness of #EdFringe so, we invited @powerplaycrew @FringeofColour @STAimFor @BOPTheatre @WCArtistGroup @morvc to join a pilot steering group funded by @UoE_EFI

We’ve teamed up with @StagingChange to run an award celebrating a production that demonstrates awareness & consideration of its environmental impact. And the winner is: My Lover was a Salmon in the Climate Apocalypse from @BradanTheatre! Huge congrats! vaultfestival.com/events/my-…
ALT The image features two people: one white woman on the left stares at the viewer and has a bodhrán covering her chest. The white person on the right has their back to the camera and is covered in clingfilm.

Does anyone have/know of any foldable/rehearsal room chairs I could borrow from 13 Dec -31 Dec ? Ideally around Wood Green/North London but open to most of London as long as it's not too far out!

As you prob know, various professional assocs eg @the_ALPD & @weareSBTD have working groups - great for knowledge-sharing & solidarity. @Ecostage1 is creating a global community. @StagingChange is another great org. And of course @JuliesBicycle has been at this for years. – at Poplar, London

Should the Edinburgh Festival Fringe be governed by a robust set of rules & guidelines for the first time in its history to ensure better treatment for people working on the famous event?

As a company, we don’t create many carbon emissions, but there are some we haven’t yet learnt how to avoid.
So we’re posting our carbon impact for May 2020-2021, and we’re calling on other companies to calculate theirs! 👣
