You dated a high schooler, 40 years your junior. I know, because she told me. Maybe sit this one out?

What’s happening in Paris and Milan is no surprise to anyone who has spent time around young people in Europe during the 2010s:
Virtually all of them were working on their 4th masters degree in social welfare, were unmarried, attended communist dinners every night, and regularly participated in riots.
Now the economy is suddenly transforming and they have nothing to show for it.

Nine years of NDP government have brought crime, chaos, and addiction to our streets.
Families no longer feel safe in their own communities, and David Eby’s failed policies have only made things worse.
Aaron Gunn and I are proud to stand alongside Lorne Doerkson in calling for safer communities, restoring law and order, and taking back our streets.
We stand behind Lorne and his vision for a safer B.C., and we want to see him as our next Premier to put that vision into action.
On Oct 24th, re-elect Harman Bhangu as your MLA for Langley-Abbotsford and let's stop the BC NDP before it gets worse.

This is a very personal cause to my family.
My nephew, Robbie, went to sleep for the last time yesterday.
He had his third diagnosis earlier this year: PFA Ependymoma.
As it was adjacent to his brain stem, it was deemed inoperable and incurable.
He was 10 years old.
What is more important than the lives of young children?
The UK government is sending billions of tax payer cash abroad instead of using it to fight horrible illnesses, both in children and adults.
They can fund perpetual wars but not treatments for illnesses.

This is where we want our taxes to go.

what even is this Progress Toronto outfit? Seems really well funded.
Vote Brad.
Every morning, we get notes from folks across Toronto who find Progress Toronto leaflets attacking Brad in their mailboxes, stuffed in overnight.
Instead of using their volunteers to deliver literature talking about @oliviachow 's positive vision and ideas for the city, all they have left is to make stuff up about the other guy.... it's PATHETIC.
Replying to @Funminz
High clawback rates on benefits plus progressive taxes create effective marginal rates often over 50% (sometimes 70%+) for lower-income households in Canada. Extra work or overtime can yield little net gain, so the approach is rational short-term for some. It still creates a trap that limits skills and mobility over time. Similar incentive issues appear in other generous welfare systems.

I don't understand the strategy of announcing that you are going to raise taxes on a group which will include many physicians, and then immediately announce recruitment is still a priority.

In 2023, Lorne Doerksen, Peter Milobar, Ian Paton and Teresa Wat all voted YES on a motion that denounced the Freedom Convoy protests and affirmed that public-health orders, “including vaccine requirements,” were an “essential tool” in B.C.’s COVID response.
The vote was 64–1.
But sure, they’re conservatives.
