After 6 seasons as a Cap, Jade Melbourne has informed the club she will not be returning.
Few have embodied the spirit of the Caps quite like Jade, we thank her for her outstanding contribution to our club & wish her every success.

I’m going to need years to recover from this 😭
Knighter, you'll always be a part of our story 🩵
From day one, you built something bigger than hockey in Seattle. You embraced this community, competed with intensity every night and inspired a generation of young girls across the Pacific Northwest by showing them what is possible when they are seen, invested in and celebrated. The legacy you leave extends far beyond the ice, and your impact on this city will be felt long after the final buzzer.
Thank you for setting the standard for this organization, delivering moments we'll never forget on and off the ice, making history with us and being the first-ever captain of the Seattle Torrent. You'll always have a home here in the PNW.

Not the result they wanted, but what an incredible turnout from the Canberra public to watch their team play today! 👏

That cannot be allowed to be Canberra United’s last game.
Not after a record crowd
Not after their best season in years
The legacy of a home Women’s World Cup and a home Asian Cup cannot be shuttering the country’s only professional women’s club.
From Fair Funding for Football:
ACT Gov gives funding to the following sports/clubs:
ACT Racing: $8m p.a
GWS: $2.85m p.a
Canberra Raiders: $2.6m p.a
ACT Brumbies: $1.78m p.a
Canberra United: $400,000 for 2 seasons as a "lifeline".
Frankly, it's not good enough.

Congratulations to Charlisse Leger-Walker for becoming the first ever Kiwi 🥝 drafted to the WNBA! 🤩
Charlisse was selected 18th overall to the Connecticut Sun, and also became the 6th UCLA Bruin selected in the 2026 draft, setting a record for most players ever drafted from one program in the same year!
We can't wait to cheer you on at the next level! 👏
