A Great Floridian.
Few figures in Florida public life have shaped as many institutions as Allison DeFoor. His career spans law, the judiciary, law enforcement, environmental policy under Gov. Jeb Bush, and the Episcopal priesthood.
Today, he leads the North Florida Land Trust, working to preserve the last wild corners of one of the fastest-growing states in the nation.
Florida Trend is proud to recognize him as a Florida Icon.

Thanks to all the line workers on Florida's Panhandle today. There's nothing like the sight of a utility truck in the aftermath of a storm.
Early this morning, FDOT and FHP escorted @insideFPL teams to advance power restoration efforts across areas impacted by Hurricane #Isaias.
As FDOT continues our mission during the recovery process, we are happy to lend a hand wherever needed, working alongside our partners to serve our communities!

The trucks are loaded, the crews are ready and it's time to go help. ⚡
Before sunrise, these Tampa Electric team members were already gathering their gear, saying goodbye to their families and preparing for a trip without knowing exactly what conditions they'll find when they arrive.
They're heading north to support restoration efforts following Hurricane Isaias and help communities begin recovering from the storm.
Long days, unfamiliar territory and time away from home are all part of answering the call when another community needs help. We're proud of the team members willing to step up and lend a hand when it's needed most.
Please join us in wishing them safe travels and a safe return home.

There are countless memories being shared about @bsfarrington and they all share the same thread. A kind soul, who cared deeply about his family and friends, and understood how important building relationships with others is.
We should keep sharing Brendan memories in the hope that we can remember to live with that same kindness and purpose every day.
