Skerries Day 5. I thought I'd blown it by not finding anything yesterday when the winds were in the south east. I hadn't. A bird dreams are made of.
I was @FyldeBirdClub support to Wyre Walking Festival's dawn chorus stroll in Garstang this morning. Gropper and Tree Sparrows the highlights of 25 species.
American Wigeon on the River Wyre today a very very pleasing find and start to 2025. Second pic by Paul Slade to show alongside an Eurasian.

Bottlenose Dolphin off Blackpool North Pier today. Totally fails to convey the acrobatics, a calf with mum in a pod of 7 etc etc but the best I could do.
Best views I've ever had of a local Great White Egret today, but these days the 110 Swift that appeared as the rain came through was more notable.
Foula Day 4 - third Shetland tick with thanks to Donna Athertons for garden access to see this Nightjar. Found a Goosander, deep red bill apparently rules out Common Merganser!
Foula Day 3 - will probably tail off now but still four Marsh Warbler and a couple of Icterine Warbler. The Rosefinch is singing so a young male. This Cuckoo was getting grief from the Mipits (sorry it's a BOC shot) - a Shetland tick for me.
Foula - two Rustic Buntings, Marsh Warbler, Bluethroat, 3 Ickys, 3 Pied Fly, Rosefinch, Mealy Redpoll, Spot Flys, Gdn Wblr, L Whthrt, Whthrt, 26 Barnies, Canada, Pinkfoot, Fieldfare, Redwing, Cuckoo, Willow Warbler, Sedge Warbler etc.
Foula Day 1 - Rustic found by the Athertons, Shetland tick Canada in the Bar-headed Geese movement, Rosefinch, RB Shrike and a drake Velvet Scoter from the (stopped) bus on the way to Walls.
Mute Swan at Pilling Amenity Area today. Ringed as cygnet 2013 Glasson Dock. First report in those 11 years @FyldeBirdClub @LDBWSnews
