.@NABShow New York, it was truly an exciting and inspiring experience!
Interacting with industry professionals, innovative media technologies, and creative minds reminded me why storytelling will continue to evolve. It was a great opportunity to learn, explore new possibilities, and connect with the future of broadcasting and digital media.
The future is digital media 🚀

Later on in the day, I made a courtesy call to the Kenya Consulate in New York, where we discussed Kenya’s preparations to host the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Nairobi, including international engagement, logistics and efforts to mobilise participation for the global meeting.
We also exchanged views on emerging Artificial Intelligence governance issues, including the need for coordinated international approaches and stronger safeguards for children in the digital environment.
Hon @MusaliaMudavadi
I also held engagements with several Kenyan Members of Parliament on the sidelines of the @NABShow in New York, including Hon. Erastus Kivasu Nzioka (Mbooni), Hon. Joseph Kamau Munyoro (Kigumo), Hon. @CGisairo (Kitutu Masaba) and Hon. Richard Kipkemoi Yegon (Bomet East).
The interactions provided an opportunity to exchange views and reflect on the role of technology, broadcasting and digital communication in advancing national development as highlighted at the NAB Show.
Attended the Future of Media: AI, Broadcast Evolution session at the @NABShow in New York, U.S.A, where industry experts explored how emerging technologies are reshaping broadcasting and audience engagement.
Discussions focused on the shift towards cloud-based production, virtual control rooms and real-time content delivery, which are transforming how media organisations produce, distribute and monetise content. Artificial Intelligence and interactive technologies are also opening new possibilities for more personalised and engaging viewing experiences.
These developments underscore the importance of embracing innovation, strengthening digital infrastructure and building the capacity of our media industry to adapt to a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
As Kenya advances its digital transformation agenda, such global engagements provide valuable insights into emerging trends and opportunities to strengthen broadcasting, promote local content and position our media sector for the future. @MediaCouncilK
Attended the Confirmation Mass for young converts at St Ambrose Kabeo Catholic Parish in Kisii County, celebrated by Bishop Joseph Mairura.
It was a joyful occasion as the young people took an important step in their faith journey, surrounded by their families, the Church and the wider community.
I congratulated the confirmands and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith, values and commitment to serving their communities.
Congregated with the faithful of SDA NAMH Church, Nyanchwa, Kisii County, for the Saturday Sabbath service led by Evangelist Donald Orina.
It was a blessed time of worship, fellowship and reflection, sharing in the Word and joining fellow believers in giving thanks to God.
I appreciate the church leadership and congregation for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to worship together.
A proud moment this morning as I laid the foundation stone for the new Bogesaka DOK Primary and Junior School.
Less than a week ago, I inspected the project when construction had just begun on the walling of one of the blocks. Today, three blocks are already complete and awaiting roofing, while the fourth is almost complete. I am encouraged by the pace of construction and the commitment of everyone involved in delivering this project.
Bogesaka holds a special place in my heart as I schooled here. Seeing these new facilities taking shape is a proud moment and one way of giving back to the community that helped shape me. I am committed to seeing this project through to completion and handing over a modern learning facility to the community.
I took time to encourage learners, particularly those preparing for their examinations, to remain focused, work hard and believe in themselves.
Kusema na Kutenda!
Later, I inspected key BETA projects in Kisii, including Kisii Comprehensive School and Gusii Stadium, to assess progress and see firsthand how Government commitments are taking shape on the ground.
During H.E. President Dr @WilliamsRuto last visit to Kisii Comprehensive School, he promised new classrooms worth KSh50 million. As of today, KSh40 million has already been disbursed and construction is ongoing. Once completed, the new classrooms will provide a better learning environment and additional space for our learners.
At Gusii Stadium, I also inspected the ongoing KSh1 billion upgrade launched by H.E. President Ruto. The modern 14,000-seater facility will provide a quality platform for sports, talent development, entertainment and major events, while creating opportunities for young people and the wider community.
These projects demonstrate that Government promises are not just words. They are being translated into classrooms, sports facilities, opportunities and infrastructure that directly improve the lives of citizens.
Promise made. Promise kept.
One year on, we remember @RailaOdinga.
A year after his passing, we honour a towering Kenyan statesman whose life was defined by courage, resilience and an unwavering commitment to his country.
Raila was a formidable voice in Kenya’s democratic journey, a champion of political reform, devolution and greater participation of citizens in the affairs of their country. His contribution to our nation’s history will remain part of the Kenya we know today.
Beyond politics, he was a patriot, a Pan-Africanist, a mentor and a leader who inspired generations to believe in a better and more just society.
As we remember him today, may we celebrate a life dedicated to public service and continue to uphold the values of democracy, unity, justice and national development that he championed.
Rest in peace, Baba. Your legacy lives on.
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐩𝐭!
Joined learners and teachers at Kisii Comprehensive School this morning for the National Classroom Experience of the Digital Literacy Programme Phase II.
Following H.E. President Dr @WilliamsRuto national launch of the Digital Class Experience yesterday at Kiminini Junior School, schools across all 47 counties today joined in showcasing how technology is transforming learning.
In Kisii, 329 Junior Schools across all 11 sub-counties are receiving an Interactive Smart Board and a laptop each, with 658 devices being delivered. In the next phase, which is scheduled for February 2027, a further 391 schools will benefit, bringing digital learning closer to more learners across the county.
Today’s Grade 7 class in Kisii Comprehensive School was linked live with schools in Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori, Nyamira, Vihiga and Busia, a powerful demonstration of how connectivity can bridge distance and bring classrooms together.
Across Kisii, 250 kilometres of fibre have also been installed, connecting 179 institutions, alongside 32 public Wi-Fi hotspots. This is the digital transformation we promised: equipping our children with the tools, skills and connectivity they need to learn, innovate and seize opportunities.
Held a meeting with @IEBCKenya Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon, this afternoon, to discuss collaboration in strengthening network coverage and media coordination ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Through @broadcastingke, we will work with the Communications Authority of Kenya and mobile network operators to ensure reliable connectivity across the country, including remote areas, to support the seamless transmission of election results.
We also discussed strengthening media professionalism, promoting responsible communication and ensuring Kenyans have access to accurate and timely electoral information.
A credible election is a shared responsibility. We remain committed to working with IEBC and other stakeholders to support a transparent, reliable and well-coordinated electoral process in 2027.
Held a meeting with Ambassador Erastus Ekitela Lokaale, Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, as we intensify preparations for the 2026 Internet Governance Forum (@igf2026ke), which Kenya will host in December.
Our discussions focused on Kenya’s preparations for the global UN forum and how we can strengthen engagement with the UN system and international partners ahead of the event.
The IGF 2026 will provide Kenya with an important opportunity to showcase our digital transformation journey and contribute to global conversations on the future of Internet governance @eelokaale @KenyaMissionUN
Later on, I also hosted Bishop Kepha N. Omae, Chairman of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (@NCIC_Kenya), who paid me a courtesy call this afternoon.
We discussed opportunities to strengthen collaboration in promoting national cohesion, peaceful coexistence and responsible public communication.
We also explored ways of deepening partnerships that support a more united, inclusive and peaceful Kenya.
Hosted Bishop Moses Turere, who paid me a courtesy call this afternoon. We discussed the role of faith-based organisations in supporting communities, strengthening social cohesion and contributing to national development. We also explored opportunities for greater collaboration in areas that advance the wellbeing and empowerment of Kenyans.
Visited the @KenyaNewsAgency (KNA) offices at Uchumi House this afternoon and engaged with the staff on strengthening the work of Government Information Officers.
KNA plays an important role in gathering and disseminating information from across the country, with County Information Officers stationed in all 47 counties to ensure that stories and developments from our communities are brought to the national platform.
We reflected on how we can better support and equip our information officers to strengthen the quality, reach and effectiveness of Government communication.
I was accompanied by Mr Temesi Mukani, the Secretary, Information and Broadcasting.
Participated in the 2nd National Development Implementation Committee Meeting of 2026 at the Kenya School of Government, chaired by the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, @MusaliaMudavadi
The meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of the implementation of Government priorities under BETA, while also reviewing preparedness for the expected El Niño rains and measures to support the millions of learners undertaking national examinations.
Our focus remains on ensuring that Government commitments are translated into tangible outcomes for Kenyans. This requires sustained implementation, resolving emerging challenges and strengthening coordination across Government.
Moving forward, our measure of success must be the difference Kenyans experience in their everyday lives, better services, greater opportunities and improved livelihoods.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Hon @koske_felix, Nairobi Governor Hon @SakajaJohnson, colleague Principal Secretaries and Chief of Staff in the Office of the Deputy President Christopher Wanja.
Later in the afternoon, I toured three ongoing projects in Masige East, Bobasi Constituency, Kisii County and assessed the progress of construction works.
At the new Bogesaka Primary School, being constructed in partnership with the Safaricom M-PESA Foundation, I was pleased with the progress made since we broke ground just a few weeks ago. The pace of construction will enable learners to move into the new classrooms soon.
I also toured the digital hub at St. Charles Kabeo High School, which will be equipped with computers to provide learners and the wider community with access to digital opportunities and services.
At St. Charles Ambrose Kabeo Catholic Parish, I checked the progress of the ongoing construction following the thanksgiving ceremony held a few weeks ago. It is encouraging to see these projects taking shape and delivering lasting benefits to the community.
Ahead of tomorrow’s Mazingira Day 2026 celebrations, I had the pleasure of joining the pupils, teachers, Board of Management and parents of Chirichiro DEB Primary School in Nyaribari Chache, Kisii County, for a tree-planting exercise.
This year’s theme, “Panda Miti, Boresha Mazingira,” reminds us that every tree we plant is an investment in a healthier and more resilient environment. As we work towards the national target of planting 15 billion trees, every school, community and household has a role to play.
I was very encouraged by the monthly Chief Climate Action activities taking place in Kisii Central, which are helping drive climate action at the grassroots. Let us panda miti, boresha mazingira and leave a greener Kenya for future generations.
Present were: The Area MCA, Hon Steve Arika; Deputy County Commissioner, Kisii Central, Madam Gladys Nyongesa; The County Conservator, Mr William Ojijo, among other guests. @Environment_Ke
Joined H.E. President Dr @WilliamsRuto during the official opening of the Agriculture and Food Security Transformation Summit at Jamhuri ASK Showground, Nairobi, bringing together 10,000 stakeholders to reflect on the transformation of Kenya’s agricultural sector.
Agriculture is the backbone of our economy and one of the strongest levers for addressing the cost of living and strengthening food security.
Since 2022, the Government has subsidised more than 38 million bags of fertiliser, bringing the price down from KSh7,500 to KSh2,000. This has supported increased production, with maize output rising from 34.3 million bags in 2022 to 71 million bags in 2025.
A transformed agriculture sector means better incomes for farmers and easier access and more affordable food for Kenyans.
