Northwestern University head football coach David Braun is the most recent prominent sports figure to spotlight the failure of legalizing commercialized sports gambling across the country:
"I’m telling you what, I got 11-year-old and 9-year-old boys at home and I am terrified of how addictive gambling is... It’s predatory. It’s messed up what’s going on. You look at 18-25 year old young men out there right now and the predatory nature of this stuff—it’s really scary."

Don Carson just received copies of his latest book (3rd ed of 'Exegetical Fallacies'), & he gave me one when we went to lunch today. I've joked with him over the years that I've supplied plenty of material for a 3rd edition, but thankfully, I didn't show up in the book!
I have a student in an online master's degree class who requests a three-day extension for an assignment he has been unable to complete. His reason? The US-Iran conflict. He lives in the Middle East in harm's way. I will definitely give him the extension!

Getting ready to hang my 2025 wall calendar. I don't need it because I use a Google calendar on my smartphone, but it's one retro thing I enjoy! What retro items do you have around your house that you still use or enjoy--record player, charcoal grill, Lincoln logs, etc.?
