Open Message from a Deplorable
I have been working since I was old enough to push a lawnmower and have been with my current company for 15 years. I have no criminal record, and it’s been over 30 years since I’ve even had a traffic ticket. I drive a paid-for 2013 vehicle, have an 800 credit score, and pay almost every tax, insurance premium, and fee known to man—yet I still write the IRS a substantial check each year. None of that has come easy. I am honest, polite, considerate, and generous, but I take zero shit. If you mess with my family or friends, I will quickly get mean and violent, because they come first.
I served in the Army in the early ’90s. I completed basic training at Fort Benning, GA, then transferred to Fort Ord in California. After one year of service, a family emergency led to an honorable discharge.
I have been married for 28 years and have two kids who have never been in trouble. My 24-year-old daughter earned a business degree from the Walton School of Business, ranked #1 in undergraduate supply chain management in North America, and has already started her career with full benefits. My 21-year-old son is a redshirt sophomore on a football scholarship at a D2 powerhouse, working toward a construction management degree.
I love the United States of America and the Constitution that protects it. I honor and salute only one flag—Old Glory—because of the freedom it stands for and the men and women who have died protecting it, as well as those still risking their lives today. You’re on my fighting side when you run my country down. I also love the state of Arkansas; my family has been here since 1840.
I don’t attend church every week like I should, but I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I am not racist, homophobic, or misogynistic. Yet the left calls me the biggest threat to America simply because I am a middle-aged white Christian man who voted for President Donald J. Trump.
That is who I am. I work hard, take care of my own, love my country, and refuse to apologize for any of it. I won’t vote for or support anyone who treats me as the problem.

When @realDonaldTrump was elected for his first term, innumerable people including most of my academic colleagues said that the worst realities would befall the United States. None of those things happened. They then said that he would wait until his second term to end democracy, institute martial law, etc. None of those things have happened. Is there a SINGLE honest individual amongst those people who is willing to admit that they were grossly incorrect and hence irrationally unhinged?

The media and Democrats label Republicans white supremacists and tell Trump he needs to disavow it hundreds of times. People ask Abdul El-Sayed to disavow the Muslim Brotherhood multiple times and he never does. The media and Democrats then make excuses for him or call us bigots for asking. This is why the Democrats are a bunch of frauds. They will literally platform someone like El-Sayed just to hold onto power. It is actually sick.
