OpenAI will make its models available to developers through Google Cloud, per CNBC, after years of going head to head with $GOOGL. Before this, compute was the bottleneck and distribution is the moat. OpenAI gets more places to sell its models. Google Cloud gets another reason for developers to stay on its platform, even while pushing Gemini.

Tesla Reports Q3 earnings today after the close. Numbers drop around 4:07 PM ET, call starts at 5:30 PM ET. Options are pricing a 5.36% move in either direction. OpenAI is racing the clock. Per Reuters, it’s trying to lock in about $30 billion at a valuation north of $1.4 trillion before Anthropic goes public in mid November. SoftBank, MGX and other backers are in talks. Both AI labs are pitching the same pool of investors, and OpenAI wants its money committed first. The pitch: $50 billion in annualized revenue today, $70 billion expected by year end. It was valued at $852 billion in March. Its own IPO isn’t planned until 2027. The two biggest names in AI are now fighting over the same checkbook. $QQQ

Amazon is betting big on the holidays. $AMZN plans to hire more than 300,000 workers for the holiday shopping season, up 20% from a year ago, per Bloomberg. Last year’s number was 250,000, and it had been flat for three straight years. When the biggest retailer in the world scales up this hard, it’s telling you what it expects from consumer demand.
