We are grateful that Florida’s two U.S. Senators Ashley Moody and Rick Scott are supporting universities in our state and their ability to succeed with college athletics moving forward. Most of the Protect College Sports Act helps restore college athletics towards a much needed national reform and is largely a step in the right direction. If the few provisions in the bill regarding conference membership are adjusted to become satisfactory, universities in our state will continue to thrive in the future. Thank you Senator Moody and Senator Scott for your strong leadership in standing up for our state.

Great to join colleagues from across the university for President Limayem's Fall Address today. His message, "Our Future Starts Now," was a powerful reminder that our momentum is driven not only by our vision, but by the actions we take every day to advance it. From record-setting student achievement and growing research impact to transformational campus investments and philanthropic support, #USF continues to demonstrate what is possible when a community works together toward a shared purpose. I left energized by the progress we've made and even more excited about the opportunities ahead.

After my first Fall Address as #USF's president, I wanted our team to know how incredibly proud I am of this university, and to feel my excitement about what comes next. I am proud of the people who change lives in ways that may never appear on a dashboard. And proud of a university that is not afraid to ask what it will take to become a model for higher education. But we cannot allow our pride to make us complacent. I challenged our USF community to imagine the university we want to be nine years from now, and to have the courage to start building it now. We know where we've been. Now it's time to show how far we're willing to go. Our future starts now.

#USF broke ground today on Uptown Landing, marking the start of construction on the nearly $500 million mixed-use development that will become a dynamic destination for students, alumni, community members, and Bulls fans.
