I am fascinated by the ways this administration finds ways to embarrass the country on the daily.
MAKING. AMERICA. GREAT. AGAIN.

First, I thought Tommy Carr played well today considering it was his first start, against the defending national champions and arguably the best defense we've faced all season. Carr is now 27/41 (65.9%) for 237 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT this season, compared to Underwood's 72/124 (58.1%), 924 yards, 5 TDs and 6 INTs. Obviously, Carr's sample size is much smaller, but I think he gives us the best chance to win right now. He's better at escaping pressure, extending broken plays and recognizing when to take the easy checkdown. Those are things this offense desperately needs. The bigger problem, however, is Jason Beck. His stubbornness is astonishing. Seven games into the season, he's still calling jet sweeps, slow-developing outside runs and edge plays that we have consistently failed to execute all year. When we focus on quick passes, attacking the middle of the field and running through interior gaps, the offense actually looks functional. Then Beck inevitably decides he's going to outsmart someone with a predictable trick play that gets blown up. How many second downs have we wasted on this nonsense, only to put our freshman QBs into obvious passing situations on third-and-long? Today's third-and-goal bootleg designed for an offensive lineman, resulting in a 13-yard sack, perfectly summarizes Beck's playcalling philosophy. He's more interested in being the smartest guy on the field than making the smartest decision. The numbers are embarrassing. Michigan is averaging 20.3 points per game, dead last in the Big Ten. Remove the 52 points against UTEP, and we're averaging just 15 points per game. We're essentially operating at 2008 Michigan offensive levels. Today our defense held Indiana to 212 total yards and 13 points. We somehow turned four red-zone opportunities into SIX points and lost a game our defense absolutely deserved to win. And that brings me to Whittingham. He seems almost completely detached from what's happening. Everything defaults to his coordinators, and I see very little evidence of him taking control or correcting problems that have existed all season. Saying "ultimately it's on me" after every disaster isn't accountability when nothing changes. He acknowledges Beck made a terrible call, acknowledges he has the authority to overrule him, and then what? I don't need a coach screaming on the sidelines. I need one who actually takes ownership of his program and makes adjustments. We're 4-3, 1-3 in conference play, and there's been virtually no meaningful offensive improvement. Carr isn't going to magically fix everything, but I think he's earned the starting job. The much bigger question is whether Whittingham is willing to intervene in Beck's offense. Because if this is what we can expect from the Whittingham era, we're in serious trouble.

The terrorist watchlist put kids on it…..about as valid as Mike Roger’s Michigan residency.

Literally who gives a fuck. Abdul has family that was on a terrorist watchlist. He loses

Ah so this is what happens when you can’t construct your roster by tampering a whole semester before the transfer portal opens!

“Tommy Carr's your starting quarterback. You have to.” - @CoachUrbanMeyer Is it time for Michigan to move on from Bryce Underwood as QB1?

But underwood wasn’t good at anything. There were no redeemable qualities. You can’t say “he threw two picks but his short game was great” or “he is struggling to pass but in the read option he’s great”. He can’t complete basic throws, can’t progress through his reads and other than one single run this year, looks like he’s running in quicksand when he takes off.

The 2 picks vs. PSU weren’t “terrible” for Underwood. If he led Marsh it’s a TD. The other was a phenomenal play by the CB. BUT carrying over from the Minnesota game, the offense was in such a negative place, a “change” was necessary.

We purchased in 2010. Our house value has functionally tripled. If we sold today we’d net roughly $300k after we paid out what’s left on our mortgage. We could absolutely afford to move. People who bought in 2021 will just have to wait a decade and they’ll be in the same spot.
Unpopular opinion: Owning a house at with a 3% mortgage will turn out to be a curse more than a blessing. You are stuck and basically can’t afford to move because you can’t afford to buy elsewhere at a 7-1/2% rate. So you’ve made a 30 year commitment to never move.
