They authorized more than a billion dollars in raises. Now the school district is looking at mass layoffs
$3.565 billion dollars in property tax revenue is taken in to pay for the Los Angeles unified school district, the total funding to the school district is around $15-$18 billion dollars per year and somehow that’s just not enough…

CHICAGO — Police were dispatched to the 600 block of North Pine Avenue following a report that a 29-year-old woman identified as Bobby was allegedly being held at gunpoint by a man described as a pimp.
According to scanner traffic, the woman's mother called police and reported that her daughter had somehow become involved with the man.
Dispatch information indicated that the daughter's boyfriend's vehicle had been struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by the man. Police reportedly responded to the location earlier.

🚢 Two massive ships collide in Germany
At the port of Bremerhaven, the cruise ship Mein Schiff 3 collided with docked container vessels while leaving the harbor. Strong winds reportedly pushed the massive liner toward the cargo ships.
More than 3,300 people were on board. The collision damaged the cruise ship's lifeboats and reportedly left a roughly 10-meter hole in the hull of one of the container vessels.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the planned cruise to the Canary Islands had to be canceled.
The vacation hadn't even started, and the passengers had already had enough adventure for an entire cruise.
