Four straight losses are obviously going to bring frustration and negativity, especially after starting 3-0, but let’s take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Those four losses came against four of the better teams in the NFL. We’re 3-4 in year one of a rebuild after being the worst team in football last season. We had the No. 1 pick for a reason, and we’re rolling out Kirk Cousins against guys like Mahomes, Allen, Stafford and Maye while still having holes across the roster. That 3-0 start raised expectations, but this team was never one offseason away from being a contender. We’ve convincingly beaten MIA, LAC and NO, teams we should be beating, and seen plenty of promising development from our young players. There’s absolutely plenty to criticize, but we’ve also made a ton of progress from where we were a year ago. We were the worst team in the NFL, and now we’re starting to see the foundation of something promising under Kubiak. This roster still needs another offseason or two before we’re legitimate contenders, and that’s okay. We’re only seven games into a rebuild, and there’s a lot to be excited about moving forward.
