‼️AO3 OUTAGE EMERGENCY READING MATERIALS THREAD‼️
writers! since we will be unable to access AO3 for a frankly unprecedented amount of time PLEASE use this thread to share links/pdfs/thread fics/etc. to read your works in the meantime!
(if you’re an ellipsus user, reader links are a great idea)

I would like to remind people that the Wayback Machine exists and can be a small glimmer of light in these dark and trying times. It's not perfect, but an archived copy of our Archive is leagues better than 2-4 weeks of nothing. Good luck!
web.archive.org/web/20261027…
We estimate that service restoration for #AO3 will take around 2 weeks but it could be up to 4 weeks. We are hopeful that we will be able to bring the site back up in a degraded state sooner. Refer to our status page for updates: otwstatus.org/

I FOUND A LIFELINE WHILE AO3 IS DOWN!!!
It’s called FicHub. If you put in the fic’s URL it can get the epub version for you even if ao3 is down.
If you don’t know the URL of a fic, you can try entering the author name in the URL box. It will give an error but suggest titles!
I’m finding back all the links of my recommended fics posted here before let’s see if they work with web archive to reread 😭

people asking why ao3 didn’t give a heads up. imo the issue is unexpected to them too. they always give a heads up in the past
that said, ao3 is run by VOLUNTEERS. they don’t get paid. please be kind, patient and respectful to them
thank you ao3 volunteers for all that you do
#AO3 maintenance is in progress. We expect it to take at least 12 hours, but it may take longer. We will provide updates as necessary. Refer to our status page for updates: otwstatus.org/incidents/g12j…
oh lordd this’s saving me during these rough times 😭 you can paste the link to check if ur fav fic has archive. I think some newer fics may not have archive
