I was honored this week to receive the UCLA TFT (Theater, Film, Television) Advocate Award along with the extraordinary artists Greg Sarris, Rick Carter, and honoree Carol Burnett. It was very meaningful to be supported by Dean Celine and Lianne Halfon at their Convocation!
Robert Redford, our visionary founder of Sundance Institute sadly passed last year on 9/16/25. Going forward, Redford will always be our guiding light, his mission and values will be our path forward in supporting independent voices & storytelling!
Congrats to ten talented artists who just participated in our Episodic Intensive and huge thanks to Jandiz Cardoso who beautifully leads the program and all the amazing Creative Advisors!

Today we celebrate Robert Redford’s birthday and reflect on the remarkable legacy of an artist, advocate, and founder whose belief in independent voices changed cinema forever.
Through Sundance Institute, Redford built a community where storytellers could take creative risks, share their perspectives, and bring new stories to the world. His vision lives on in every artist we support.

We’re very excited to start up our FFP Producers Lab today at UCross Foundation in Wyoming. We have five selected producers who will have the generous support of a great group of visionary independent producers!
Meet the ten independent producers participating in the 2026 Sundance Institute Producers Lab! The Lab will take place at Ucross Foundation in Wyoming from July 13–18 for feature film producers and July 20–25 for documentary producers.
