The calves have fancy jackets now. It's freezing most nights here at the moment. Just Celsius freezing 🥶 not Fahrenheit freezing.

The irony of ironies, gas station in New Zealand is shutting down because price of said gas is too high.

With all the memes, 💩posting, & useless facts, plus being distracted by school holidays, I didn't realize Margaret Hamilton died like 2 weeks ago. I was just telling my oldest about her last month & looked her up & she was alive.

I'm in retro heaven. Found this beauty in almost perfect condition for my husband's 50th birthday.

Like 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, in New Zealand we have 2 degrees of Russell Crowe. Turns out I'm related to someone who is vaguely related to him. #Famous #MinimusCelebritius

I really want to stick these into our front paddock. Something to entertain the cars & trucks going by. I'd 99% guarantee that it's illegal here 🙃

We do this almost every night & breakfast time too. My youngest sometimes gets mad if we start without Dad. Also have lunch with my husband most days. It'll be harder when they're older & have more independence but hopefully by then it'll be an expectation not just a habit.
Children who eat dinner with their family most nights do better in school, have fewer behavioural problems, and are less likely to develop eating disorders. A 2023 umbrella review in the journal Nutrients combined the results of 57 reviews and found that family mealtimes were consistently linked to better outcomes across every domain measured. The review found that children who ate with their families regularly had higher fruit and vegetable intake, lower rates of obesity, better academic performance, and fewer symptoms of depression and anxiety. The association held after controlling for income, parental education, and family structure. The mechanism is not the food. It is the conversation. Family dinner is one of the few remaining settings in modern life where a child sits with adults, without a screen, and practises talking, listening, and being heard. The vocabulary exposure alone is significant: children at the dinner table hear a wider range of words than children who eat alone, and vocabulary at age five is one of the strongest predictors of academic success. The review also found that the quality of the meal mattered less than the fact of sitting down together. A takeaway pizza eaten at the table with conversation produced similar benefits to a home-cooked meal. The key variable was the shared time, not the menu. Nobody has time. Everybody is tired. The research says that twenty minutes at a table, phones off, food on plates, talking about nothing in particular, is doing more for your child's brain, body, and mental health than most interventions that cost money and require appointments. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3744…

So are we going with WW3 or the comtine with the classic WWIII ?
Germany is preparing hospitals for a possible conflict, Lithuania has updated its evacuation plans, and NATO troops are conducting exercises across the Baltic region as Belarusian forces hold large-scale maneuvers near Lithuania, according to Politico.

Found 4 baby birds in the pool filter set up. We were going to dismantle it but guess we won't now! So cute but will stay well away now so the parents don't get freaked. Love the bird life out here.

This is my personal connection to 911. I am semi flabbergasted it has been 25 years since September 11, 2001.

Read 📖 Every 👏 Label 🏷️
“Lab-grown” eggs are already in products at Walmart and Target.... made by genetically modified yeast, not chickens. Genetically engineered yeast programmed with a chicken gene sequence to pump out ovalbumin in giant fermentation tanks. FDA gave it a “no questions” letter — GRAS approval. Still an egg allergen. It’s already in baked goods, protein bars, pasta, sauces, and dressings. Labels may say “egg white protein (from fermentation)” or “animal-free egg white protein.” It is still an egg allergen. People with egg allergies will react. Vegans who think “animal-free” means safe will get a surprise. This is not an egg. It’s a recombinant protein made by GM microbes, scaled with pharma fermentation partners, and quietly inserted into the food supply. Read every label. Real eggs come from chickens. This comes from a tank.
