It's the 2nd biggest trophy for women's soccer for sure. They think since in men's soccer it's u-23 it's basically the same for women and it's just not. It's also absolutely bigger than the Women's Euros.
Doesn’t change the fact that the Olympics are right up there with the WC and even if Britain had qualified early on, they still would have been a non-factor. Fact is. England has only been relevant in the last 4 years just like Spain.

Britain has a very unique and complicated history with just getting a team to the Olympics. Plus the qualification to the latest tournament was stupid

i will never forgive you folks for hyping russo over mariona for the bdo last year WHEN MARIONA HAD THE BETTER CHANCE TO WIN IT
Lol my goodness. It’s not Alexia, it’s not Aitana, it’s Marta! Prime Marta would run circles around them and that’s not an exaggeration.

someone actually saw Martha play for clubs? Was she really that good?
I think we put her in goat conversations just because of her appearances in the World Cup
Yeah, I think we haven’t had a “superstar” since Lloyd/Rapinoe. After them, we’ve just had a really strong team as a whole.
If the award had been around before Mia Hamm, Michelle Akers, Kristine Lilly, and Carli Lloyd would def won.

imagine being mad about seeing alexia putellas speaking 3 languages in that delicious accent and delivering a beautiful speech bc you’d rather watch some crooked bald englishman who’s trump’s bff spend half his speech going “hmm” and “uhm”

it always feels kinda terrible watching this ceremony as a women's football fan every year what with all the subtle disrespect and microaggressions built into the whole program idk
