New Task: Factions Calculations - Working Backwards and Generalising This task gives plenty of practice calculating all four operations with fractions, with lots of patterns to spot and generalise algebraically. Really excited to give this one a go in September!

Charlotte maintaining her “queen of WRM” status. 👸🏻👏🏻
For those that might not have seen it this is my spreadsheet based on the white rose scheme which links small steps to activities from Don Steward, MathsPad, MathsBot and many others. I have started updating for 2022 and the links to block assessments now work again…

Can any maths teachers out there who use @WRMathsSec let me know how they've found the resources so far? I'm thinking about it for KS3. Also, stupid question - no. of licenses - surely that's not the no. of students but the no. of teachers? It only goes up to 100! Thanks 🤗 – at Isle of Man, United Kingdom

@SupportWrm @mrshawthorne7 @missradders I'm looking at the WRM SOW to use as a 5 yr curriculum. Do any of you use it for the whole of ks3/4 or just up to a certain point? Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you 😊 – at South East, England

My attention drawn to this question from @NCETM Classed as GD but accessible to all with the generalisation that where the numerator and denominator are the same, it represents the whole, 9/9, 7/7. Seeking out relationships is core to Tf Mastery. 3 Yellow is the whole, 3B?

tes.com/teaching-resource/so… Added another resource today: solving one step equations with a focus on adding and subtracting, looking at the different fact families visible in the bar model. Please let me know your thoughts! #mathschat @WRMathsSec

mathshko.com/2019/12/04/pict… I like the proportional reasoning that goes with pictograms. I've been marking pictogram Qs and I've seen some interesting ways of solving the Qs

@SupportWrm. @mrshawthorne7. Any findings and opinions on how you have found using WRM positive and negative would be brilliant thank you.
Thoughts and ideas greatly appreciated. I moved to a new school in Sept as HOD. The school is a good school but the maths SOL needs improving. Done quite a bit of research and like @WRMathsSec I think. Please can I have your thoughts on it if you use it? @mrbartonmaths @mathsjem

Lovely, going to use this with WRM year 7 unit 4 #supportWRM
Been for a walk by the local canal this morning. Noticed a number in the window. Thought of this example-problem pair to check pupils' understanding of place value.

😍tes.com/teaching-resource/pl… What a set of tasks. The kinda thing I might skip over, assuming students could do it. But look at this. Digs into understanding. Makes students think. Totally worthwhile and brilliant!
