Trumpโs DOJ has charged James Comey AGAIN, this time under the Espionage Act over a 2016 New York Times story. In DOJโs own words, Comey had staff talk to a reporter to โcorrect misinformationโ in a Reuters article.
They filed the charges on the last day of the 10-year deadline and skipped the grand jury. Comey is already moving to dismiss, arguing the extended deadline only applies to indictments
Comey: "Well, they're back again.
It would almost be funny if it weren't such an appalling abuse of the Department of Justice. One that we cannot become numb to.
Nothing's changed with me. I'm still innocent. I'm still not afraid of these people. And I still believe in the independent federal judiciary.
And I'm still lucky to have an amazing family and an incredible group of lawyers and will stand up in court and fight the latest. And whatever comes after this, the next couple of years are going to be hard for all of us.
It's really important that we stand straight and keep the faith in America."
