Induced demand 🤔 … since the M4 Corridor Around Newport was built in the late 1960s the population of both Newport & Cardiff have nearly doubled in size AND Newport remains a designated growth zone in WG’s National Dev Framework
The current M4 debate is ill informed & politically compromised No reference to wider data re induced demand or the facts that i) every major urban motorway in UK suffers peak time congestion ii) any sensible mitigation has to include more PT & pricing

Today I had the opportunity to visit Central Quay, the redevelopment by Paul McCarthy, Rightacres Property Group, of the former Brains Brewery located south of Cardiff Central.

A pleasant trip today to Heads of the Valleys Industrial Estate in Rhymney to see the completion of a 30k sq ft total rebuild following a fire.
It’s a Grade A spec unit … on an estate not otherwise known for its quality!

The river used to be something to be ashamed of… dirty, smelly and hidden behind the shops. But no more, it’s now clean & this scheme opens up the river.
