Joe Carolan made his debut for the Republic of Ireland 67 years ago today... as did the great Johnny Giles.
On this day in 1959, a nipper called John Giles made his debut for the Rep of Ireland, in Dalymount Park, against Sweden. 42k fans saw the Irish go 2 down very early, before young Johnny scored in the 16th minute to spark the comeback. Dermot Curtis added 2 more to make it 3 2

USSR at home. 1974. Some young scamp, Liam Brady, made his debut. Don Given's got a hat trick. The stuff of Legend. Unreal stuff. As good a result as we've ever had.

A new arrival... A USA shirt from our 1979 Friendly, played in Dalymount Park. The shirt was swapped with Irish Captain on the night, Mick Martin, and comes from Micks collection..

Paris was the destination on this date in 1980, for a World Cup Qualifier against France.. A 2 nil defeat, in the Parc des Princes, against an improving French side. Photos below include Packie Bonners first Irish shirt, he was an unused sub, and an as yet unknown subs shirt.

The Rep of Ireland travelled to Solna, Sweden for a European Championship Qualifier on this date in 1970. Beaten 1 nil, but we were used to that, considering we were more or less right in the middle of a 5 year winless streak.

An article on Floodlights in this 1953 programme, apt, considering Dalymounts lights have just gone out for the final time...

America... a failed state..
This Australian's reply to Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect. "Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage. You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail. Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates. Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you. And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban in Afghanistan thanked you very much for losing again. And you're calling Greenland poorly run? Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no. 'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years. And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess. So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth." Credit to: Jim Keller

Alan Shitter, Ladies & Gents... More concerned with Bohs jerseys than dead Palestinian babies.
Of course he did. A Bohs freebie. Were they sold at last nights Hamas rally? Hows that going for Bohs then? Did they win the league or cup? Did I miss that? Only asking. Suppose will sell lots of Bohs shirts in Iran!

What a fucking thick. Its Alan Shatter, aided & abetted by David Quinn. 2 poisonous cunts who prefer the Hasbara money, rather than calling out a country killing babies. Fuck those 2 cunts. Fuck the Wall Street Journal. Fuck Israel. And fuck you, with your 3 first names. Prick.
The Wall Street Journal, one of the most respected newspapers in the world, has now published a new opinion piece about antisemitism in Ireland Those who continue to deny the existence of antisemitism in Ireland are looking increasingly both foolish and hateful

Id hope James McClean rethinks his words from his interview on Sunday.. there should be no shame in being honest about the demons in your head.. But some young lads will see what James has said and think seeking help is not the male thing to do... God bless both of these lads.

You can judge a cunt by the company he keeps.... Linner... Quinn, Shitter, Dipso O'Doherty, Treyvaud off the jacks pot, Keith Mills... plenty more, who i refuse to remember this morning... Shitebags more concerned about a can of coke than they are about dead children.
lol please keep telling us how Ireland doesn't have an antisemitism problem.
