The spread of dangerous misinformation surrounding the tragic killing of Jarets Frimpong in NYC is fueling death threats, xenophobia, online harassment, hostility and intimidation towards Black Americans and those currently in Ghana.
The investigation into the Frimpong case is ongoing, yet innocent Black Americans are being targeted by misinformation based on unverified allegations and baseless claims from individuals claiming Ghanaian nationality and accounts linked to Ghana.
I urge the US and Ghanaian authorities to take these cyber threats seriously, investigate, and hold the perpetrators accountable before this hostility escalates further.
I also urge US & Ghanaian media outlets, journalists, and influential voices to discourage these inflammatory narratives about the case and verify information before amplifying it. An ongoing criminal investigation must not be replaced by social media speculation and misinformation.

We hold medical professionals to a higher standard—and for good reason. Her license should be reviewed. As a trained medical professional, she should've known better than to post this. Medical professionals are explicitly trained in professional ethics, integrity, and decorum.
And my thing is, if she's most comfortable with African people, wouldn't it make sense for her to return to a place where her services are needed? She could genuinely make a difference there. Someone who publicly expresses these attitudes toward Black American communities shouldn't be practicing medicine in the United States, where she is expected to serve a multicultural society.
