Trump said he doesn’t care about high gas prices because he’s making such a fortune but a joke about the fucking Cheesecake Factory (a chain with notably gauche design elements) has them clutching their pearls!!! The hypocrisy is out of control.

there are multiple moments in this movie - and that final fight in particular - where the artistry on display is so aesthetically overwhelming that i was instantly out of breath and moved to tears. an astonishing, once-in-a-lifetime achievement of filmmaking and storytelling that made me feel like i was falling in love with fantasy for the first time all over again.
one of the strongest arguments i’ve ever seen against anything thinking it can replace art that humans make themselves. pure magic as a movie.
“I’m smarter than this thing and the audiences that are enjoying it” is the most condescending, BS criticism, particularly when applied to a serious work that is garnering so much thoughtful discussion. It’s a cop out from those who can’t cogently articulate their own thoughts.
There is no inherent correlation between genre and intelligence. This is a patently absurd argument. Plus, from my experience, the only people who use variations of the phrase “low IQ” are deeply insecure about their own eruditeness and it is not a legitimate criticism.

hate it when my side hustle (employment) gets in the way of my main hustle (watching movies)
I simply adored Georgia Oakley’s Sense and Sensibility. A gorgeous and naturalistic adaptation, filled with charm, yearning, sisterly love, and very silly men. Edgar-Jones and Creed-Miles are sublime, as is the score. I was completely swept away and will treasure this for ages.
There are definitely elements of Wicker I liked. The production design and cinematography, Olivia’s wonderful performance, it can be funny and romantic. But much of it felt unfocused and obvious, with the townsfolk and their thinly written nonsense constantly dragging it down. 🤷♀️

Elon Musk is afraid of Talarico because he [Musk] has a lot of business in Texas. It has nothing to do with principles or programs; for Musk, it's all about the Benjamins.
This is actually a very childish and immature mindset. It’s okay to like both Tarkovsky and Star Wars. It’s okay to go see Fjord and Clayface. It has nothing to do with growing up.
