I do not at foreclose the possibility of various sorts of political shenanigans even after Vucic’s concession but this extraordinary result in Serbia is what happens when people show up: in the streets, at the ballot box. That’s the lesson. If you care about democracy, show up.

Yes! These people have made building in San Francisco so restrictive that OVER HALF of the homes there now are illegal to build today
For SF to get in compliance, 130,860 homes would have to be destroyed
This self-inflicted housing shortage is the city's biggest problem—by far

Nonprofits have hollowed out our state capacity and corrupted the progressive project
Austin paid nonprofits in full even after they missed nearly half of the performance targets reviewed in a damning city audit.

Multiplexing can be thought of as "GPU-ification" of a complex biological system
Serial measurement becomes massively parallel
To turn biology digital, you need data at *scale* and *relevance*
The power of multiplexing is you get both.
Multiplexed in vivo screening is the future of drug development.
@ManifoldBio is multiplexing protein therapies in vivo.
@GordianBio is multiplexing gene therapies in vivo.
@waypointbio is multiplexing cell therapies in vivo.
GT Bio is multiplexing LNPs in vivo.

San Francisco has failed at infrastructure for so long that reporters will look at a 25 story building and call it "inconceivable" and "sci-fi"
Even the sci-fi film "Big Hero 6" could not envision a San Francisco with tall buildings in the Marina.
In the real world, one is likely coming to the Marina Safeway site. No matter what politicians or people calling for a boycott want.

Star Wars depicts a future where cybersecurity just doesn't work. They have AGI but they keep it bottled up in droids; they don't network anything. As soon as R2-D2 gets access to an actual network he successfully hacks the Death Star.

I've said it once, I'll say it again and keep repeating myself:
No expensive housing market builds lots of housing.
That is not a coincidence: build homes and prices are controlled!

Whenever the Big One hits San Francisco and levels vast swaths of the city, we will finally confront an uncomfortable truth: we have outlawed our own existence.
Cities built over generations cannot be rebuilt because our codes are anti-city, and most people don’t know it.
Replying to @saikatc
Saikat, are you aware than San Francisco county has a $15.9B budget for under 900k people? We could halve the budget and still be spending double what Denver county spends. There is no funding shortage, just a lot of corruption.

HOW ABOUT ACTUALLY BUILDING SOME HOUSING instead of banning everything you can think of in the hope that this will "free up space" 🤡

Fun fact about this film: the energy used to make it was generated entirely by George Orwell's body spinning in his grave

Yes to more housing in the marina. Build everything Align proposes.

Some of my low opinion of leftists comes from reading a bunch of Orwell back in 2018-19. I recommend:
* The Road to Wigan Pier
* "Notes on Nationalism"
* "The Lion and the Unicorn"
* Homage to Catalonia
Most of what he wrote resonates strongly even today.
