I am glad your comment section is already setting the record straight.
Our state has an agro-allied airport, two federal universities, a federal polytechnic, a federal teaching hospital, state and private universities, and specialised schools. We also have enormous agricultural potential, tourism attractions such as Ikogosi Warm Springs and Arinta Waterfalls, and ongoing infrastructure projects.
Ekiti continues to make progress, with growing opportunities in education, agriculture, infrastructure and tourism. Like every developing state, there is always room to do more.
We should not criticise so much that we become blind to progress, nor celebrate so much that we overlook opportunities for improvement.
During my recent visit, I participated in the Ekiti at 30 Future Summit, engaged with young people and offered mentorship to the three winners of the Youth Essay Competition. Through Scholarships Cafe and the Muyiwa Igbalajobi Foundation, I continue to contribute to education, scholarship access, and youth development.
The next time you visit Ekiti, I encourage you to visit the university at Iyin-Ekiti and some of these development projects. More importantly, ask yourself: In what ways have you contributed to the development of Ekiti? Or is development solely the responsibility of the government?
I do not claim that Ekiti has arrived, but I believe its progress deserves recognition. Loving Ekiti means acknowledging achievements, sharing honest perspectives, and contributing to solutions.
Let us move beyond criticism to constructive engagement and meaningful contributions to the development of our state.
Doc, there's critique and there's running it down. I think what is being done is critiquing the system to see where we can do better.
Beyond the photo ops and all of the Governor, the quality of life of an average Ekiti resident isnt better or improving. If you have his ears, let him know.
90%+ IGR collection rate isn't something to celebrate about. To me, it's basically a base effect. We have a lesser population to tax and collect from compared to other states in the same tier as us.
We must turn the tide; and I think the Governor has goodwill and the people like him. He should use it for their emancipation. Governance is beyond prostrating every now and then; that has earned him a second term. – at Oshogbo, Nigeria
Some of you are even indigenes of Ekiti but have barely set foot in the state since birth, yet you are always eager to jump at every opportunity to run it down. You cannot genuinely wish for the progress of a place you constantly seek to ridicule.
It is perfectly fine to criticise, demand accountability and point out areas that need improvement. But let us be guided by facts, fairness and a genuine desire to see Ekiti move forward. We can disagree with those in government without being unfair to the state and its people.
The first one, a mistake.

Nobody said the President can just wake up and cut NASS's budget. My point is that he can push for reforms to reduce the cost of governance. The fact that NASS has financial autonomy doesn't mean the cost of running government cannot be reduced.

Your first 10 years is for acclimatising - knowing the rules of the game and big boys. Next 10 is for acceleration - who to please and how to please them. The last 10 is for accumulation - you are now a big boy, so enjoy.
Lastly, for now, everyone deserves a voice, but not everyone is heard. Knowing where and when your voice is heard is the difference between yourself and the other person who is on fast track.

Some of you are not particularly introspective or, more accurately, attentive to the realities around you. How many men have the wherewithal to settle down with a medical doctor? Do you understand what it takes to become one? Do you think a medical doctor will readily settle down with just any average man? This is by no means an attempt to put down nail technicians, as theirs is a legitimate profession. But a man, especially one living in Nigeria, is more likely to settle down with a nail technician than with a medical doctor, simply because he does not measure up to the demands and expectations that come with building a life with the latter.

It doesn’t always work like that oh☹️☹️
When I was working in the bank, one of my colleagues was dating a big man who happened to be one of our major customers. At the time, she still had her boyfriend so we all advised her to just chop the man’s money while maintaining her relationship. 😭
Six months into the relationship, she came to work one day and told us the man wanted to leave his wife and marry her we screamed.. We told her not to make that mistake because we were convinced that if he could leave his wife for her, he could also leave her for someone else.
She married him exactly one year into their relationship.
Fast-forward to when she had her first pregnancy, the man sponsored her to USA to have their first baby. she sent us chocolate and whenever I’m eating that chocolate, I feel like ntor 🥵😜was attached to it because imagined she listened to our advice? She for still dey do “next customer please with that red bank”
She has had her second child with the same man, got a brand-new car as a push present and her mum has travelled to the USA about five times now.
Omo, life don pass rich prince falling in love with village girl feem abeg..
Anytime I view her status, I’m always grateful that she followed her mind oh and never listen to us.
Fallacy of composition.
This reminds me of my university days. I once approached two ladies, just like this. One walked away, while the other stayed and gave me her phone number.
When I called her later that night, she told me to get straight to the point, so I told her I was looking for a serious relationship.
To my surprise, she gave me the phone number of her friend who had walked away when I approached them.
Long story short, that friend and I ended up dating for four years until unforeseen circumstances came between us.
The real material is the one who walked away. >>>
