The #SecondBrain Guide: How to Stop Re-Explaining Yourself to #Claude
It’s getting f*cking ridiculous: people are still building their Claude second brain by hand while Obsidian’s own CEO already open-sourced the shortcut 4 repos that do the setup for you, all checked on GitHub: → obsidian skills by kepano, Obsidian’s CEO. 49.8K stars. teaches Claude how Obsidian actually works → claude obsidian. 15K stars. wiki, ingest, query and lint as ready-made commands → obsidian second brain. 4.8K stars, 48 commands, runs in Claude Code, Codex and Gemini → second brain starter. interviews you and writes a 9-phase build plan for your exact setup half the guides going around still quote old star counts and an install script that doesn’t even exist anymore the full guide is in the article below, install commands included save it so you don’t lose it

On this day, we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. We remember all those who stood against the evil of communism. We honor the young freedom fighters who sacrificed everything to join the struggle against tyranny, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. These young men and women had their entire lives ahead of them, yet when duty called, they put everything on the line, taking to the streets to defend their families, their nation, and their freedom. Instead of watching passively from their classrooms, they joined the fight, knowing well that it may be their last. Finally, we remember the innocent lives lost and forever scarred by the horrors of communism. To us at the VOC, it remains deeply troubling that so many around the world continue to glorify this wretched ideology. It is therefore our duty to ensure that the dark history of communism is never forgotten—not only for the sake of future generations, but also in honour of the countless men and women whose lives, dreams, and futures were stolen by it.

The Hungarian Revolution of 1956 was a nationwide uprising against the Hungarian communist government and Soviet control that lasted from October 23 to November 4, 1956... Hungarians suffered under years of harsh totalitarian rule, forced Russian influence, and terror by the ÁVH (secret police). In 1956, Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev gave a secret speech denouncing Joseph Stalin, which inspired hope for reform across Eastern Europe. On October 23, 1956, thousands of university students and citizens gathered in Budapest. They demanded free elections, the withdrawal of Soviet troops, and the appointment of reformist leader Imre Nagy as prime minister, listing their demands in a 16-point manifesto. Crowds toppled a massive bronze statue of Joseph Stalin. When protesters went to the state radio building to broadcast their demands, the ÁVH secret police fired into the crowd, killing and wounding several people. This turned a peaceful protest into an armed revolt as regular Hungarian soldiers joined the people. . . . On October 22, 1956, thousands of university students crowded into an assembly hall at Budapest’s Technical University. They had grown up beneath communist rule, surrounded by its slogans, spies, portraits, and lies. Someone in the meeting asked by what right Soviet troops remained in Hungary. The hall erupted: “Go home!” For years, those words could cost a Hungarian his education, his livelihood, or his freedom. Now thousands were shouting them together. And once the fear broke, the demands began. . . . Hungary had emerged from WWII beneath Soviet occupation. The Communist Party eliminated its rivals piece by piece until no meaningful opposition remained. Mátyás Rákosi, Hungary’s Stalinist ruler, called the process “salami tactics.” Elections became performances. Newspapers repeated Party’s version of reality. The secret police—the ÁVH arrested, tortured and imprisoned suspected enemies. Show trials forced innocent people to confess to imaginary crimes. Cardinal József Mindszenty was tortured and sentenced to life imprisonment after refusing to place the Catholic Church beneath communist control. Economy was commanded from above. Peasants were pressured into collectives. Workers struggled to meet quotas devised by bureaucrats. Ordinary goods remained scarce while propaganda celebrated imaginary triumphs. Communism claimed to liberate workers while denying them right to strike. It claimed to represent the people while refusing to let them choose their government. And it claimed Hungary was sovereign while Soviet troops occupied the country. By 1956, few Hungarians still believed the slogans. But a dictatorship does not require belief. It requires each person to remain convinced that everyone else is too frightened to resist. On October 22, that illusion collapsed. Students packed the assembly hall until there was scarcely room to move. Speakers condemned Soviet domination and the crimes of the Stalinist government. Then students began writing what became 16 Points. They demanded the withdrawal of Soviet troops. Free elections. Freedom of speech and press. A free radio. Independent courts. The release of political prisoners. The right of workers to strike. An honest accounting of Hungary’s economy. And the removal of Stalin’s enormous statue from Budapest. These were not requests for a kinder dictator. They were a rejection of communist claim to rule. They named lies plainly: If Hungary were sovereign, Soviet troops would not occupy it. If Party represented the people, it would not fear an election. If workers ruled, they would not need permission to strike. If communism had produced prosperity, the government would not need to conceal its failures. The students announced that they would march the following day in solidarity with Poland’s resistance to Soviet control. They invited Budapest’s workers to join them. Then they carried their list into the streets. . . . #archaeohistories

OTD in 1956, Hungarians rose up against Soviet-backed communist rule. Students demanded free elections, a free press and the withdrawal of Soviet troops. On 4 November, the Soviet Union launched an invasion to brutally crush the uprising. Seven decades later, Russia is seeking to rehabilitate the Soviet Union’s actions by portraying the uprising as the result of ‘Western provocations’, whitewashing the brutal intervention that killed and wounded thousands and forced 200,000 into exile.

🇭🇺 70 Years Since the Hungarian Revolution - A Nation's Fight for Freedom On 23 October 1956, thousands of Hungarians took to the streets of Budapest, demanding freedom and an end to Soviet domination. What began as a peaceful demonstration in solidarity with Poland soon became a nationwide anti-communist uprising. Students gathered at the monument to Polish General Józef Bem, a hero of Hungary's 1848-1849 revolution. Polish and Hungarian flags flew side by side. Within hours, protesters toppled Stalin's statue, and armed clashes erupted in Budapest. For nearly two weeks, Hungarians fought Soviet troops and communist security forces. On 4 November 1956, Moscow launched a massive military intervention. Soviet tanks crushed the uprising, leaving approximately 2,700 Hungarians dead and nearly 20,000 wounded. Around 200,000 fled the country. Repression followed. Thousands were imprisoned, hundreds were executed, including Prime Minister Imre Nagy in 1958. 🇵🇱 Poland stood with Hungary. Thousands of Poles donated blood, medicine, food and money to help the wounded and those in need. In Poznań, where communist forces had violently suppressed a workers' uprising just four months earlier, residents organised humanitarian shipments. Families even offered shelter to Hungarian children. The revolution was defeated militarily, but its legacy endured as a symbol of resistance to Soviet domination. 🇭🇺🇵🇱 Seventy years later, we remember those who fought for Hungary's freedom, and the extraordinary solidarity of the Polish people. @PLInst_Budapest @PLinHungary

#META killed the #LLM era?!
Meta published a paper that might end the current LLM era. They proved that we can kill the "tokenizer" forever and it actually makes the models stronger. Every AI you use today (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) reads text the exact same way. It chops your words into arbitrary chunks called tokens. It relies on a massive, bloated vocabulary of around 100,000 specific chunks just to understand a sentence. We assumed this was the only way to build AI. We treated it as the fundamental speed limit of language models. Meta proved we were completely wrong. Their new paper, "Breaking the Token Ceiling," ditches tokens entirely. Instead, they forced the AI to process raw bytes. A vocabulary of just 256 values. The results rewrite the rules of model efficiency. By training on pure bytes and distilling the knowledge, these tiny models didn't just survive. They dominated. Meta's distilled 1B-parameter byte models asymptotically surpassed state-of-the-art token models like Llama 3.2-1B and Gemma-3-1B across downstream tasks. They use a fraction of the vocabulary. They require less data. They take up less storage. It forces the model to actually learn the fundamental relationships between raw data instead of relying on pre-packaged text chunks. This is a massive shift for anyone building, training, or deploying AI. We’ve spent the last five years obsessively optimizing how we chop up text to feed these models. It turns out, the bottleneck wasn't the intelligence of the model. It was the tokenizer.
