Side bar. I just don’t find BIG 10 football enjoyable or fun to watch. Yes, USC played horrendously. Yes, they deserve to lose. But having every team try to shorten the game on you and getting seven or eight possessions is just not a fun product.

I’ve been saying this… it’s all talk. Teams are not gonna start scheduling harder since there will be more wiggle room. They are gonna schedule exactly as they do now to ensure they are in the top 24 every season.

Big Ten Chief Operating Officer Kerry Kenny tells ESPN there’s not a specific SEC-Big Ten scheduling agreement being announced, as has been intimated publicly. When the CFP formally expands to 24 teams starting in 2027, every Big Ten team is committed to an annual non-conference game against a power team.
