In amongst the strike action, the NEU is holding national elections. I have announced my intention to stand as Post-16 national executive member.
I will be a voice for members in all colleges.
Please attend your district meetings and ask them to back my nomination.

We were pleased to hear minister @Jacqui_Smith1 confirm today that she supports extending the fully-funded 5.5% pay rise to all teachers in sixth form colleges. The Government must now make this right. Read more👇

We have written to Secretary of State Bridget Phillipson, seeking urgent confirmation to make sure that the recent additional funding awarded to further education is allocated for staff pay in non-academised sixth-form colleges.

Met a bloke in the Chinese takeaway. He's annoyed about winter fuel payments, but was actually more annoyed about the lack of funding in the post 16 sector.
He was taken aback by the pay disparity between FE and schools

My copy of this arrived today (didn't order on 12th Sept) and it looks brilliant. The fact that we have access to full worked solutions instead of just answers is also great!
Thank you both, it will be well used!

A text from neighbour to say a parcel was delivered to them. I go round and thank him - it’s a maths text book, I say. “Exciting times”, he replies with heavy sarcasm. But, reader, I am excited.

No, no @TLMaths and @dani_hosford … thank you both for an excellent book. Already been very useful with my Year 12s!

If any of you get messages from TLMaths Publications, it would be helpful if you can respond. We are doing verifications of some of the delivery addresses we have ... ready for dispatching the books.
Not long now.
