Gee, I wonder if they’ll just keep the money? Lol
NEW: Anthropic’s filing appears to partly walk back—or at least massage—the co-founders’ pledge to commit 80 percent of their personal equity holdings in the AI startup to philanthropic causes, a commitment made when the startup was founded. Those acts of philanthropy, the filing suggests, are “voluntary, revocable expressions” that “do not constitute binding obligations.” motherjones.com/politics/202…

I am shocked, shocked.
Anthropic's S-1 explicitly makes clear that the founders' commitment to donate 80% of their personal equity is revocable / non-binding.

Lapped and -1 in turnover ratio. They have maybe a 10% chance to win unless they even the turnover ratio.

$442m to buy our elections and it constitutes just 0.045% of Elons wealth. That’s the equivalent of the median American household spending $92. If you can’t see the problem with this then I don’t know what to tell you.
🔴 News - Elon Musk donated another $76 million to support Republicans, raising his total contributions this cycle to over $442 million

Aside from the shocking substance of this story, what's amazing is how it was unearthed by Cole. The short version: The Russians were able to penetrate Jared Kushner's iPhone and extract screenshots and data. Then, a Russian intel official was captured by Dutch intelligence (!) and flipped. The Dutch believed Kushner may have been acting on behalf of Russia, so pursued him as an intel target and were able to get into his phone. They did not find any evidence of Russian collusion, instead they watched him moving hundreds of millions of dollars from slush funds created by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, one of them housed in Israel's central bank. Incredible reporting, and if Democrats have any sense, they will pull on these threads and learn a lot more about this money.
Explosive story many years in the making, now out in Vanity Fair by Matthew Cole (who will be on Breaking Points next week, and publishing soon in @DropSiteNews): Saudi Arabia and the UAE set up multi-billion slush funds for Jared Kushner to use. Iran-Contra 2 here (except with Iran-Contra, at least the US got some hostages released. Not clear what we got out of this one.)

When one man can wire $158 MILLION overnight to his preferred candidate, our democracy isn’t working for the people. And when democracy only works for the wealthy or well connected, it’s no longer democracy: It’s oligarchy.
Now we can say it definitively. Elon Musk donated $158M to SLF. SLF donated $158M to Texas PAC. SLF is Texas PAC's only donor. Elon Musk is singlehandedly funding Texas PAC, which is boosting Ken Paxton.

Billionaires pay the same amount into Social Security as someone making $184,500. If we ended that absurdity & applied the payroll tax to all income above $250,000, Social Security would be solvent for 75 years & benefits would be expanded by $2,400. Let’s do it.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has modeled uncapping the payroll tax with no benefit changes and found it would return the program to annual surpluses for just three years, through 2029, at which point annual deficits would resume. taxfoundation.org/blog/save-soci… ssa.gov/OACT/solvency/…

No, Mr. Altman. We won’t accept a severe AI cyberattack in exchange for “liberty.” 74% of the American people don’t trust Big Tech Oligarchs. And for good reason. Sam Altman, the co-founder of OpenAI, recently said: “There is a coming tidal wave of cybersecurity problems that are going to come from these open source [AI] models … We're going to, as a society, I think, have to just accept some fairly severe cyber incidents from open [AI] models, in exchange for the liberty that comes with that." Mr. Altman: What do you mean by that? Should we “accept” a global financial breakdown and massive economic pain if AI models hack into the international banking system? Should we “accept” patients dying if hospitals are forced to shut down because AI models hack into the power grid causing massive blackouts? Should we “accept” another Chernobyl if AI models hack into nuclear power plants? No, Mr. Altman. The American people are not willing to accept disaster “in exchange for the liberty” of making Big Tech Oligarchs even richer and more powerful. Let me be clear: The creators of any AI model — open-source or not — are not above the law. If you and other Big Tech Oligarchs make products that commit crimes or disasters, we will hold you accountable for breaking the law — no matter how much wealth and power you have. We must PAUSE advanced AI and permanently BAN artificial superintelligence before it is too late.
