Washingtonians are poised to welcome the first income tax on the 1% in state history. π°π§
Grassroots support for the Millionaires Tax bucks nearly century-old opposition to such. Critics call it illegal. But for now, the ppl have spoken. #waleg

There are so many states with lovely people out there regardless of how the majority of their neighbors voted in an election. π³οΈ

Former WA House Republican Leader JT Wilcox weighs in on what real leaders do after a big butt-whuppin'
After a big election loss you can tell who the real leaders are. They are the ones who take responsibility. It's true that most of what happened in WA was driven by the national wave, but whether it is all their fault or not, Leaders are honest about the result and identify and own the mistakes that they made. Anyone who refuses to do that doesn't deserve the loyalty of the rest of us. In politics we all have a shelf life, but the date isn't printed on us. Leaders will recognize if this is it.
U.S. Rep. Emily Randall, D-WA, posted this proposition tonight in anticipation of Democrats taking back the US. House.
The presumptive blue wave lapping these United States is swelling in Washington where a new left is vying to oust the old guard. ππ³οΈ
What's on the menu for Democrats this time? Eating the rich, keeping the high court, an an illusive supermajority. π½οΈπ©

With Election Day coming next week, be careful not to confuse percent with percentage point. A change from 10% to 13% is a rise of 3 percentage points. This is not equal to a 3% change; rather, itβs a 30% increase.

Former WA Governor Christine Gregoire has spent more than her two cents worth nitpicking Olympia's spending spree. ποΈπΈ
But she never signed off on an ad casting her as a fan of repealing the Millionaires Tax. She's not thrilled. π« π³οΈ

Oregon's future should be decided by Oregonians, so... listen to this famous Californian?
Oregon's future shouldn't be dictated by trillion-dollar corporations - it should be decided by Oregonians. I'm proud to stand alongside @Janefonda in the fight to put people over mega-corporate interests. As your Governor, that's exactly what I'll continue to do.

That's what allegedly happened to a cohort of WA farm workers who were fired and rehired under questionable conditions per their lawsuit. πβπ« #waleg
