Due to personal commitments including surgical exams, I will sadly not be seeking re-election onto the UKRDC.
I've dedicated my life to the BMA over the past two years and unfortunately over the next year I won't have the capacity to do the role justice. 1/6
It's your LAST CHANCE to represent your colleagues by standing for election to your local RJDC. #VoteRJDC

Etihad threatening to sue. UAE reportedly intimating that UK investment could be pulled. A Prime Minister couching any criticisism. If this sorry saga doesn't convince you that state ownership of football clubs should never be allowed, nothing ever will.

Me and 6 other orthopaedic registrars finished training this month...and no job in sight. And this is only in my region, and in my specialty.
Unless the Government increases the numbers of consultant and GP posts available, it risks creating a new workforce bottleneck.

Bookmarking this for the next time he suggests doctors shouldn't be paid more.
P.S. we support the tube drivers.

GMB negotiating team are ready to meet BMA management negotiators but a fundamentally different approach to that taken by the CEO and Board to date is needed.
Additional investment in the offer to BMA staff is required.
There MUST be an end to below inflation pay awards.

Realistic and reasonable about what the country can afford?!😂
You’re paying assistants to doctors more than you’re pay doctors;
Day one pay in central London:
🔸Newly qualified Doctor:
£20.36 / hour
🔹Newly qualified Physician’s Assistant:
£28.86 / hour
That’s 41.75% more.

Has the government forgotten its job?
It’s meant to provide patients with specialists.
Pulling training posts for doctors is a massive own goal from a government that claims it wants to cut waiting lists.
How do you reduce waiting lists without specialists?

3.5%? Yeah, right. MP’s 5%. Pay stats prior to 3.5%, Office of National Statistics and NHS digital figures.

MP pay uplift 5%.
Doctor pay uplift 3.5%.
The money is always there for MPs, not for anyone else.
Resident doctors have been left with no choice but to strike. Weeks of negotiations with the Government have failed to deliver enough progress on pay, with the goalposts being moved at the last minute.
We have called six days of industrial action to make the Government listen, stop the game playing, and come back with an offer that delivers fairly on both jobs and pay.

The overall turnout was 52.54%.
Stay tuned for updates on our next steps.

This is very good news for Scotland. I am grateful to everyone involved in the discussions. This ensures that the progress we are making in NHS recovery can be maintained.

Good news for doctors, patients and the NHS in Scotland.
Spot the difference 🏴🏴.
Strikes can and should be avoided, but they require politicians to negotiate seriously and in good faith, unlike @wesstreeting.
