People can say whatever they want, but Stephen Strasburg is arguably the best MLB postseason starting pitcher of the past 20 years. Sorting by pure statistical metrics and peak performance rather than total career length, Strasburg is at the very top.
In fact, 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀 𝟭.𝟰𝟲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗥𝗔 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱-𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗟𝗕 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟰𝟬 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮 (𝟬.𝟳𝟬) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗞𝗼𝘂𝗳𝗮𝘅 (𝟬.𝟵𝟱).
Strasburg Postseason Resumé:
-6–2 record,
-1.46 ERA,
-0.94 WHIP,
-71 strikeouts across 55.1 innings.
During the Nationals' 2019 World Series championship run, Strasburg became the first pitcher in Major League history to finish a single postseason with a perfect 5–0 record. He posted a 1.98 ERA with 47 strikeouts and just 4 walks over 36.1 innings.
CLUTCH: Strasburg took home the 2019 World Series MVP after going 2–0 with a 2.51 ERA against the Houston Astros. This included a legendary Game 6 performance where he pitched 8.1 dominant innings to save the Nats from elimination.

A lot of MLB team employees on the business side are extremely nervous about a long lockout. Some said they will wait it out and hope for the best. Some said they will wait for a severance package. Some are jumping out to other sports or out of the biz of sports entirely. A source told us that Chris Bush, #Nats Director, Client Retention just resigned.

A slap in the face of the Washington Nationals who have been in their stadium for 20 years. Audi Field is 8 years old.
The D.C. Council will discuss a $620M proposal to add a roof to D.C. United’s Audi Field on Oct. 23.
The project would add roughly 8K seats and include nearby mixed-use development, with the district covering approximately $300M of the cost.
