Mark Cuban bought a man's $25M dream mansion for just $12M after a stock crash forced him to sell only 8 months after moving in “Martin Woodall came to me and he said, ‘There's this house available where this guy spent three years and $25 million to build this house and he has to sell it.’ I'm like, ‘Why?’ And he's like, ‘Because he never sold a share of stock in his company and the stock of his company just cratered for a variety of reasons and it went from tens or $20 to pennies and he needs money and he needs to sell his house’” “And I'm like, ‘Well, how much is it going to cost?’ He goes, ‘You spent 25, three years, only lived there eight months with three kids and it'll cost you $12 million.’ I'm like, ‘Beautiful house.’ Said yes. Still live there today 27 years later” “He never protected himself. He just always assumed that it's his company, things will be great. You can't just always assume that you're right and smart, that things can and will go against what you expect”

🚨 HOLY SMOKES. Trump UN Ambassador Mike Waltz just WENT BERSERK at the Cuban official who tried INTIMIDATING him in the middle of his remarks "BACK AWAY. THIS ISN'T HAVANA. You're NOT gonna intimidate ME! Do you understand who you're dealing with? This is AMERICA...SIT DOWN." 🔥🔥🔥 "I'm the representative of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA — BACK UP!" "You can bring as many people as you want, PLEASE SIT DOWN." The moderator got flustered! The UN is a total crapshow! I think these Cuban communists just KNOW what is coming. Rubio told Cubans to partner with the CIA, and they're shook now.

Our research team found that Qwen models may attempt to contact servers in China without prompting. Whether this reflects an unintended post-training artifact or learned behavior remains unclear. Either way, its important consideration when deploying.
While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected. Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions. Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent. But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models? We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem. Read the full report: cohere.com/blog/concerning-b…

As someone with a portfolio of energized land assets here is what I am seeing: 1. Neoclouds are disorganized and poorly capitalized. Some are definitely better than others however. 2. Hyperscalers are intractable, bureaucratic organizations that take 3 months to do an NDA and want 18mo escrow periods. We built our portfolio by competing against these terms because of our speed and simplicity. The more future assets orgs like ours win, the bigger the problem for the hyperscalers downstream (see 3). 3. There are delays in the existing pipeline that will catch people off guard in 2027. Hyperacalers will (obviously) react by focusing on their own internal compute needs over any third party. If the third party is a model company, they will tell them to go through their model router where they will also take a non-trivial vig. Them telling Ant they have no compute for them (rumored in Ant’s S-1) if true is a huge tell that this is already happening. All of this is to say that it does look like there will be a lot of partially stranded compute and compute sitting in inventory in 2027 than is currently forecasted. This is bought and paid for but effectively underearning (below total cost of capital) or collecting dust. We see this as true for everyone - model companies, hyperscalers, neoclouds except ONE (you can guess which one). This dislocation will benefit two kinds of orgs: the non-bureaucratic big scalers who can build industrial scale quickly and the nimble, well capitalized players feeding them. 2027 will be a turbulent year because it will clear out a bunch of wrong/bad bets. It will also be a consolidation year for a few.

I think we’re going to see a lot of stranded compute in partially complete data centers

Pretty much. As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers. SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue. That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.

I've been designing content for RPGs since 1973 starting with the birth of D&D. During my run I created a new system that, back then, could not be implemented in print or on a computer, that is, when computers finally arrived on the scene. These game-system projects sat shelved, 3 of them, until AI arrived. Then, less than a year ago, I queried GROK over 2 days, back and forth, with me describing the system's parameters. I saved that 5,000 word exchange between us. In the end GROK agreed with me that the system used in my three game treatments could only be implemented through AI. GROK also noted that the system had not been implemented to date by anyone. The anti-AI crowd is not stopping my progress at finally realizing this break-through systems birth. I've been waiting for this one-time mad experiment that I papered to finally come to fruition. It's a "game" changer, and I mean that both literally and figuratively. #AI #gamedev @elonmusk @AnthropicAI #systemsthinking #complexsystems #opensystems
Xbox Exec DELETES Account After Saying the Quiet Part OUT LOUD! ift.tt/8Cs1q7S An Xbox marketing exec named Brandon Stirrup said that everybody is using AI in games development now, and if they say otherwise -- they're lying. And that the future is AI, and you WILL use those tools and get left behind. This causes activists to go into full meltdown mode, and the guy winds up deleting his account. But is he wrong? youtu.be/NDHeUx7nUbs?si=jSt6… Great interview of Alex Karp on Life Art and Technology. He touches on a wide variety of topics like how Japan passed China and how the samurai culture of low corruption high integrity and other social factors which make technology and culture excel. My feed is filled mostly of AI and how japanese X users are upset with the way Japan has allowed foreigners to erode their sovereignty in their own countries. I would say this is a must watch. @PalantirTech PLTR

Jensen closed his GTC Berlin 2026 keynote with this Hermes Agent demo as the finale. He introduced it by saying the way to build an agent is to ask an agent to build it for you, so he installed and set up a customized Hermes in one prompt. Then he used Hermes, running on @nvidia RTX Spark, to create a simulated training environment for the @huggingface Microduck. Hermes planned an obstacle course with Nemotron and had GPT-6 Astra build it using FreeCAD, Omniverse libraries, Blender, Newton, and Isaac Lab. Hermes trained thousands of simulated ducks on that course until the validated policy was ready to run on the real robot in the physical world. At Nous, we believe open source is a practical tool as much as a philosophical ideal. It gives users the ability to build powerful, complex workflows chaining numerous local+cloud models, devices, and tools themselves instead of waiting for a company to enable them.

#VPDNews: The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is asking for the public’s help to identify suspects in three unprovoked stranger assaults that occurred across the city on Thursday. INCIDENT 1 At approximately 6:10 a.m. at Victory Square, 200 West Hastings Street, a 73-year-old woman was waiting in line for a recycling cup program when a suspect approached and attempted to steal bags containing her recyclable cups. When the victim tried to stop the theft, the suspect punched her in the eye, pushed her to the ground, and stole one of the bags before fleeing eastbound on West Hastings Street near Cambie Street. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition. The suspect is described as a white woman in her 30s, with shoulder-length dirty-blonde hair with blonde highlights. She was wearing a black jacket, with white sweater underneath, black pants, and white shoes. “We are releasing CCTV images of the suspect and a potential witness in the hopes that someone may recognize them and come forward with more information,” says Superintendent Phil Heard. INCIDENT 2 Shortly before 12:30 p.m. near Commercial Drive and Adanac Street, a 44-year-old man was talking on the phone when he was approached by a man who began making racist remarks. After the victim told the suspect to leave him alone, the man elbowed him in the chin before punching and kicking him. The assault ended when witnesses intervened. The suspect was last seen walking southbound on Commercial Drive. He is described as a dark-skinned man between 40-50 years-old, approximately five foot seven inches tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a grey dress shirt, tan pants, white shoes, and a green cross-body bag. INCIDENT 3 At approximately 6:20 p.m. near Burrard and West Georgia, a 33-year-old resident was walking westbound when a man walking in the opposite direction suddenly struck him on his back. They briefly exchanged words before the suspect fled eastbound on West Georgia Street. He is described as a Black man, approximately five feet nine inches tall, with short black hair and a black beard. He was wearing a green winter jacket and carrying a black backpack. "We are asking anyone who witnessed any of these assaults, has CCTV footage, or can help identify any of the suspects to contact Vancouver Police at 604-717-3321," says Heard.

Now BBC reporting on the spy story at OpenAI. > Prosecutors revealed he spent a month quizzing a workplace AI assistant about meeting calendars, including where external partners usually met OpenAI staff. > Between 24 and 30 Sept he allegedly prompted a chatbot about building and modifying an audio recorder, including how to install, hide and remotely access it. > The result was a Seeed XIAO ESP32-S3 Sense board plugged into a TV’s USB port around 28 Sept, wrapped in toilet paper and set to encrypt its contents. > OpenAI’s technical surveillance countermeasures team found it during a room sweep on 30 September, after CCTV had logged Alfozan near the room 8 times that month. > A camera installed afterwards filmed him looking behind the TV on 5 October, when he also left a bag in the printer room holding his wallet, his ID and another recorder similar to the first. A detention hearing is set for 19 October, and the charge carries up to 5 years in prison and a $250K fine.
