Powering the future of floating solar. We are proud to bring innovative membrane-based floating solar technology to India, in collaboration with Norway-based renewable energy technology company Ocean Sun. The partnership was formalised through a signing ceremony held on the sidelines of the 2nd India-EFTA Prosperity Summit. As part of the collaboration, a ~300 kWp floating solar pilot will be undertaken at our Mulshi reservoir in Maharashtra, evaluating performance, reliability, O&M, cost competitiveness and scalability under Indian conditions. The pilot comes at a time when India is increasingly looking to unlock the potential of its water bodies for renewable energy, including through initiatives such as the Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri Surya Sarovar Yojana (PM-SSY). This collaboration marks another step in our journey to explore innovative solutions that can accelerate India’s renewable energy transition, while making efficient use of available water bodies. Exploring new frontiers in solar. Powering a cleaner, more sustainable future. #ThisIsTataPower #FloatingSolar #RenewableEnergy #SolarEnergy #CleanEnergy #PMSSY

“NO TOY TRAINS FOR TATA’S” A brilliant 1970 Tata Power advertisement with a simple message: while children played with toy trains, Tata Power had the very serious job of keeping Mumbai moving. The ad proudly says “Tata Power supplies BEST” and “Tata Power pulls trains across the western mountains.” Behind the cheeky artwork was a very real part of Bombay’s history. Tata Power had been involved in supplying electricity for the city’s railway electrification since the early 20th century. A little vintage advertising, a little Mumbai history, and a reminder of just how interconnected the city’s trains, BEST buses and power network were.
