I’m deeply saddened to hear of Walter Lauridsen’s passing. We met several times, and I always valued our conversations about our shared belief in second chances and helping people build better lives. Kevin and I are praying for Walt’s children and for Nix and Virginia as they grieve this heartbreaking loss. Our hearts are also with Aage, Christine and Rob, and the entire family.

I just got off the phone with President Trump. He told me that he will be in Iowa on October 22 and November 1. He is anxious for Iowans to hear his message before they vote. Stay tuned for further details.

“I’m pleased to announce that Iowa’s First in the Nation status is officially preserved through 2028. As Chair of the RNC’s Presidential Nominating Process Committee, I led the effort to keep Iowa first and protect the carve-out system. Democrats may have abandoned Iowa, but Republicans under President Trump and RNC Chairman Gruters are committed to ensuring the Iowa Caucuses remain a defining part of the presidential nominating process.” iowagop.org/blog/national-re…

Why go for the Nantucket lobster when you can just get your fix @JRsSouthPork Ranch?
Meanwhile, Ashley Hinson has spent the whole day at the Iowa State Fair chatting with Iowans!

If institutions of higher education are actually interested in restoring trust in their institutions, this is where they should start.
Public trust in higher education is at a breaking point. It’s time for university leaders to step up.

What an inadequate and pitiful response. The Iowa Democratic Party and Rita Hart have no fight for their own state. Regardless of win or lose this fall, this is a blatant dereliction of duty.
During the meeting @iowademocrats voted against the calendar. @RitaHartIA says it excludes huge parts of the country. She says IA is at the center of the political universe right now and that this is a “distraction” to the midterms.

New from @IAFieldReport: Iowa Democrat Chris Jones says farming "isn't that hard" and says Iowa farmers are "only working a few weeks out of the year." This is on video. This is who wants to be Iowa's Secretary of Agriculture. 👇 #iapolitics

🧵(1/7) As Dr. Fauci returns to the headlines, let's revisit where liberal Rob Sand stood during the COVID pandemic. This is not the record of a so-called moderate. Iowans deserve to know if Sand still stands by these positions today. #IAGov

REMINDER: Rob Sand did not have his auditing powers "taken away" by the legislature for uncovering corruption. During covid, he tried to access the private medical records of Iowans. At the time, he said his office was legally entitled to them. So, SF478 was passed and signed into law, which clarified that, no, it turns out a state auditor's office is not in fact entitled to our private information. Everything about Rob Sand is a lie.

My invitation is simple: Give the people of Iowa what they deserve— the opportunity to hear an honest, in-depth discussion about our visions, solutions, and policies for the future of our state. This past March, I stopped by Rob Sand’s office and asked him if he’d be willing to participate in a series of Lincoln-Douglas-style debates across Iowa if I won the Republican primary. He happily agreed and even gave me a high five. Fast forward to today... After winning the Republican primary in June, I’m still waiting for Rob to honor that commitment. I want to have an open, substantive conversation about our competing ideas for Iowa. I believe this debate format would not only better serve Iowa voters, but also set an example for how campaigns across the country can engage in respectful, meaningful dialogue. No fluff. No spin. No 30-second sound bites. Just two candidates. Real conversation. Honest debate. Let the people decide. Your move @RobSandIA.

Very excited to officially have the endorsement of the President of the United States - Donald J. Trump. Looking forward to working together to win up and down the ballot in Iowa.
Thank you, Mr. President! 🇺🇸 With President Trump putting America First and Zach Lahn putting Iowa First, we will build a safe, affordable, and prosperous future for our state. #LFG

If you would allow me to translate for Out Of Office @RobSandIA: This response is the career bureaucrat mentality of “sorry, not in my job description.” The voters do not elect leaders to do only what is technically required. They want leaders to do what is right. When one of the largest school districts is having tremendous financial issues, the states highest auditing authority should be getting involved at the first sign of trouble to protect taxpayers.
I know you guys are from out of town like your candidate so I’ll fill you in: nearly all Iowa public schools use a private auditor and have since before my time- including Iowa City, Des Moines, and Cedar Rapids. So there's nothing our office was responsible to "find.” Also, the PIE Program efficiency award is completely unrelated to audits. You probably know all this and don’t care. That’s on you. 🤷‍♂️
