Thank you, Idaho. Last night you sent a clear message that good conservative policy and keeping your word still matter to voters. I'm honored by your trust once again, and I'm ready to get back to work. By defeating Prop 1, you also sent a message to the whole country that Idaho stands up for life and is not for sale. Idaho emerged as a bright spot amidst a challenging night for Republicans nationwide, and our party should take heed of this. The American people trusted the promise of peace and lower prices, only to face a war overseas and increased costs at the gas pump and grocery store. Instead of abandoning our principles, we must deliver on them. This requires leadership that actively listens to everyday Americans, communicates the truth, and follows through on our promises.

Attorney General Labrador has defended our state's laws at the highest level, returned millions to our state via settlements, and aggressively prosecuted criminals who prey on children. On November 3, vote Raúl Labrador for Attorney General!

Happy Columbus Day! On this day in 1492, Christopher Columbus reached the New World and carried Western civilization and the Christian faith across the Atlantic. That inheritance is ours. Our duty is to guard it and hand it down stronger than we found it.

Idahoans can now buy suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns without registration, lengthy waits, or federal taxes following guidance issued by ATF on Friday  that it will stop enforcing those requirements nationwide, following the court victory Idaho won with 14 other states. Idaho gun dealers and owners should read the ATF’s FAQs at: atf.gov/firearms/update-to-n… before buying or transferring firearms or seek a private attorney for more questions.

AG Labrador is fighting to protect children!
I'm co-leading a coalition of states with @AGJamesUthmeier, asking the Supreme Court to reverse a Ninth Circuit ruling that says parents can't even challenge a Washington state law letting runaway children receive irreversible gender transition procedures without their parents' knowledge. Idaho families living just miles from the Washington state line are directly exposed. A child who crosses that border can be put on this path while parents are kept in the dark. The Ninth Circuit's ruling also binds federal courts in Idaho and every other state in the circuit. If it stands, parents across the West lose their day in court.

Today we honor the Constitution, the greatest governing document ever written. Our Founders understood that our rights come from God, not government. The Constitution was designed to protect those liberties and limit the power of government. As Attorney General, I will always defend the Constitution and the freedoms it guarantees.

Twenty-five years after September 11, we remember the nearly 3,000 Americans killed by Islamic terrorists who sought to destroy our nation, our values, and our way of life. We remember those who died, all the heroes who ran toward danger, and the families who still carry the loss from that day. We will never forget.

NEWS: We’ve delivered the largest big tech settlement in history for child protection. Meta agreed to pay $17.1 billion, with at least $89.2 million of that coming to Idaho. More importantly, Meta will change how Instagram and Facebook treat children: - Stronger, more user-friendly parental controls - “Nighttime blocks” restricting children’s access between midnight-6am - Robust measures to more effectively verify the age of young users - A two hour daily limit on a child's account - No notifications, and limited access for children during the school day
NEW: Meta agrees to pay up to $17 billion and make sweeping changes to Facebook and Instagram for minors, bringing a landmark federal trial over claims its platforms harmed children to an abrupt end. @ClaudiaCowanFox reports the settlement with 29 states would require stronger age verification, usage limits, overnight restrictions and breaks, along with bans on features like plastic surgery filters. Meta denies wrongdoing, according to court documents. The deal still needs court approval and would remain in effect for the next 10 years. @AmericaNewsroom | @DanaPerino @BillMelugin_

Last year Congress reduced the $200 tax on silencers and short-barreled rifles/shotguns to $0 in the OBBB, but kept the related federal paperwork and fingerprinting requirements. We joined other states and gun rights organizations challenging those requirements. A federal court issued a permanent injunction preventing the government from enforcing the paperwork requirement against the parties to this case. The ruling has caused some confusion. It clearly applies to Idaho’s state agencies and the members and customers of the specific organizations and companies involved in the case. It is not as clear whether it applies to individual Idahoans who were not plaintiffs in the case. I’m working with other Republican Attorneys General to ensure that it applies to every single law abiding citizens and will continue to fight for your 2nd Amendment rights.

One week ago, an evil individual opened fire in a Twin Falls In-N-Out drive thru and took the innocent lives of three, leaving many more wounded. My prayers remain with the victims, the injured, and every family carrying this loss. Even in the worst moment, Idahoans showed us who they are. A former officer ran straight at the gunman. An off-duty trooper stayed inside to get people to safety and exchanged fire to protect them. A visitor’s center employee stood his ground on a nearby trail, drawing the gunman’s attention so others could escape. Bystanders and coworkers rushed to render aid to the wounded, some while still under fire. We do not take that kind of courage for granted. Idaho is grateful for these heroes and grateful to be a state full of people who run toward danger instead of away from it. ktvb.com/article/news/crime/…

On Saturday, a gunman opened fire at a crowded Twin Falls In-N-Out. In that moment, Jordan Salinas drew his firearm, took aim, and ran toward the shooter. Salinas and an off-duty police officer together drove the shooter off the property, giving families and employees the chance to escape. Their courage, without a doubt, saved lives. Idaho is grateful for Jordan Salinas. We are grateful for the off-duty officer who stood with him. And we remain grateful for the right of law-abiding Idahoans to defend themselves and each other when it matters most. idahostatesman.com/news/loca…

Idaho families should never have to fear going to the park, walking the Greenbelt, or being killed by an illegal alien behind the wheel. We can and must do more to protect Idahoans from the consequences of illegal immigration. It’s time for the Legislature to strengthen our laws and ensure that businesses that knowingly employ illegal immigrants face meaningful consequences.
🚨An illegal alien KIDNAPPED and SEXUALLY ASSAULTED a 15-year-old girl in Idaho. Jose Alberto Lozano-Flores, from Mexico, is now facing charges of lewd conduct with a child, kidnapping for the purpose of ransom or committing rape, and resisting or obstructing officers.  @ICEgov is working with our partners in Idaho to ensure that he is not released from jail and is NEVER loose in American communities again.

Praying for everyone in Twin Falls as first responders continue searching for the suspect near In-N-Out. Twin Falls Police, Idaho State Police, and fire and paramedic crews remain on scene working to secure the area. If you’re in the area, please listen to local authorities and stay away from In-N-Out and the surrounding streets so first responders can do their jobs.

I joined a coalition of states in filing an amicus brief in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, backing a federal rule that cracks down on states issuing commercial driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants in violation of federal law. States like California, New York, and Washington have skirted federal law to issue CDLs to illegal immigrants who can’t read our road signs, and families have paid for it with their lives. The Trump Admin is finally enforcing the law that blue states have ignored for years, and my office stands behind them. Idaho will not let liberal policies put unqualified drivers behind the wheel of eighteen-wheelers on our highways.

Four years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court settled this issue for good. In Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Court held the Constitution says nothing about abortion and left the decision on how to regulate abortion to the states. Relying on that authority, Idaho enacted laws to defend unborn children while still allowing mothers to make difficult decisions when their own lives are at risk. Dr. Stacy Seyb is now asking a federal judge to defy that ruling and hand doctors the power to decide when an unborn child’s life ends, based on nothing more than their own shifting, undefined standards. Seyb also asked the Court to allow abortions when a doctor diagnoses an unborn child with a significant disability. He told the court he sees no point in continuing a pregnancy under such circumstances, questioning at trial, “What is the point?” Our filing calls this exactly what it is: an attempt to use the courts to grant legal cover for eugenics, a position that has no place in Idaho. Seyb’s testimony at trial shows that he failed to learn what Idaho’s laws actually required, and that he operated on a fundamental misunderstanding of the requirements of the law. That failure to understand Idaho’s law is actively harming women. Idaho law already allows doctors acting in their good faith medical judgment to save a mother’s life, without requiring a physician to wait until her death is imminent before performing a life-saving abortion. The Idaho Supreme Court settled that standard more than three years before this trial began. But Seyb testified that he never read that ruling and remains confused about Idaho’s laws. That misunderstanding led Seyb to fly a patient to Utah for care he could—and should—have given her in Idaho, resulting in the patient being septic when she arrived in Utah. Unrebutted expert testimony at trial confirmed that Seyb’s decision to fly that patient to Utah, instead of legally performing the life-saving abortion in Idaho, increased her risk of complications and death. Our brief also notes that Idaho’s law has coincided with a dramatic drop in maternal deaths since Dobbs. Idaho’s pregnancy-related mortality rate has plummeted from 18.7 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2018 to 4.29 in 2024, and Idaho’s combined rate over the past two years runs well below the national average. Finally, the brief explains in depth that there is no historical support in the history and traditions of the United States to support Seyb’s arguments that Idaho’s laws are unconstitutional. Rather, the clear history in the U.S. prior to the now overturned Roe v. Wade decision is that states were always free to regulate abortion. Idaho’s laws protecting unborn life, while allowing for an abortion when necessary to save the life of the mother, are consistent with centuries of U.S. legal history and tradition.

Idahoans are tired of scammers swindling their families and flooding their phones with non-stop robocalls. I’m calling on the FCC to strengthen rules that would cut off scammers’ access to legitimate telephone numbers. Without that access, scammers can’t use real numbers to deceive and scam Americans. My Consumer Protection Division works daily to educate people on how to avoid scams, but we need to hold telecom providers accountable at the source for allowing that illegal traffic in the first place. I am urging the FCC strengthen its rules to cut off scammers before they can target Idaho families.

When I reorganized our Consumer Protection Division, the goal was to strengthen investigations and consumer outreach. Because of the changes made we have already returned $956k to Idaho consumers in the first six months of 2026, on pace to beat last year’s record of $1.1 million. These numbers show what this office was built to do: hold bad actors accountable and give Idahoans a fair shot at resolving disputes without the cost and delay of a courtroom. I’m proud of this team, and we will keep fighting for every Idaho consumer and good-faith business in the marketplace.
