A video circulated on social media accompanied by text claiming, "White House cameras hacked."
#The_Truth:
The circulating video showing U.S. President Donald Trump smashing furniture in the Oval Office—which was claimed to have been captured by hacked White House cameras—is fake; it was generated using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
We examined the circulating video using specialized video analysis tools, and the results showed that the video is fake and was generated using highly advanced artificial intelligence technology.
When the video was examined using Google’s “SynthID” tool, the results indicated that it was created using that tool.
Upon closer inspection of the video itself, several indicators suggest that it was generated using AI technology, most notably:
1- The presence of tags and labels in the upper-left corner, including the phrase “AI GENERATED” below the camera name.
2- Unrealistic body movements and the physics of objects breaking, as well as facial features, are indicators that support the conclusion that the video was digitally created using AI or visual effects (Deepfake / VFX).
We also conducted a reverse image search on the circulating video and found that it was first posted on an Instagram account on November 4, 2026. and upon reviewing the account’s description, it was found that the account owner is the founder of a company specializing in generating virtual characters for brands using artificial intelligence technologies.
This fake video began circulating following the U.S. midterm elections, which took place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and marked a critical juncture for U.S. President Donald Trump and his Republican Party.
According to results announced by U.S. media outlets on November 4, 2026, the Democratic Party made gains in the elections, managing to wrest control of both chambers of Congress from the Republican Party, in addition to winning a number of state elections.
In the House of Representatives, Democrats won 237 seats compared to 139 for the Republicans, while in the Senate, Democrats won 54 seats compared to 44 for the Republicans.

A report circulated on social media stating, “It has been officially announced that the import of motor oils will be banned and that the country will rely on domestic oils starting next month.”
#The_Truth:
The circulating report regarding a ban on importing motor oil and a shift to relying on domestic motor oil starting next month is false, as no decision has been issued to ban imports or restrict reliance to domestic products. What the Cabinet voted on on October 27, 2026, was a requirement to obtain approval from the Ministry of Oil to import motor oils, without the need for a traditional import license.
We fact-checked the circulating report using keywords on search engines, and found no reliable source to support this claim. Furthermore, no news regarding this matter was published on the official accounts of the Prime Minister’s Media Office or of Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi. Likewise, none of the local media outlets—whether official or unofficial— this story.
It is worth noting that on October 27, 2026, the Iraqi Council of Ministers voted to amend its Decision No. (555 of 2025) regarding import permits for motor oils, According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office, the amendment regulates the import of engine oils and lubricants of all kinds and requires approval from the Ministry of Oil for their import, without the need to issue an import license as was previously required.
The amendment also includes changes to Ministry of Oil Directive No. (1 of 2013) to facilitate the implementation of the Law on the Import and Sale of Petroleum Products, Accordingly, the decision concerns the regulation of the import mechanism, not a ban on imports or a requirement to rely exclusively on domestic oils, contrary to what has been widely alleged.

A video circulated on social media accompanied by text stating: “Breaking News: Iran has just declared war; negotiations with the U.S. have ended; Iranian television reports that Iranian forces confirm: Decisive strikes against the American enemy and its allies are on the way.”
#The_Truth:
The circulating video, which shows a spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces in an official statement threatening that “the upcoming response will be decisive and direct against the interests of the U.S. and its allies,” and that “the countdown has begun and strikes are on the way,” is old and dates back to 2025, not recent as claimed.
We conducted a reverse image search on several frames from the video and found that they were published on news websites on June 23, 2025, showing an official statement issued by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard regarding the launch of missiles, following the attack it carried out on a U.S. military base in Qatar at that time—not a recent event as claimed.

A photo circulated on social media accompanied by the text: “Hind Talib: The homeland is more precious and better than religion. Hammurabi had no religion, yet he built Iraq. I, like others, rejected the Iranian Embassy’s invitation and the 66 million tomans.”
#The_Truth:
The statement circulating and attributed to Iraqi artist Hind Talib—claiming that “the homeland is more precious and better than religion” and that she rejected the Iranian embassy’s invitation and the sum of 66 million tomans—is false. Furthermore, the watermark visible in the image, which bears the logo of Al-Sharqiya TV, is fabricated, and the channel has not published any such statement.
We verified the circulating news using keywords on search engines, and found no reliable source to support this claim. Furthermore, no statement or announcement regarding this matter was posted on artist Hind Talib’s official social media accounts, nor did any local media outlets—whether official or unofficial—cover this story.
Furthermore, upon reviewing the official accounts and website of Al-Sharqiya TV, we found no news report containing this specific claim or similar information, This indicates that the person who posted the image deliberately superimposed the statement onto a template bearing the “Al-Sharqiya” channel’s branding, with the aim of misleading viewers and making them believe that the content originated from a reliable media source.
As for the image added to the template, it was taken from an interview with actress Hind Talib on February 8, 2021, on the “Zagros” channel.

#fake_document...
A photo has been circulating on social media accompanied by text stating, “A leaked document from the head of Saudi General Intelligence to the head of the Royal Court regarding Iraq.”
#The_Truth:
The document circulating is fake. It purports to be a confidential cable issued by the General Intelligence Presidency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and addressed to the Chief of the Royal Court regarding Iraq, and it includes references to capitalizing on a Shiite popular movement during the October 2019 protests.
Upon verifying the alleged document using keywords in search engines, no reliable source was found to support the claim contained therein, nor did any Saudi media outlets or Arab cover this document.
There are also several indicators suggesting that the document is fake, including:
1- In the upper-left corner, specifically in the date field, the Hijri month is incorrectly omitted; for example, the month of Muharram should be written as “02,” not “2” as it appears in the document.
2- The font used in the document differs from the font used in documents published on the “WikiLeaks” website.
3- The document is not lined, contrary to what is customary in such official correspondence.
4- The document combines the phrases “confidential telegram,” “urgent,” and “top secret,” which is unusual in official correspondence, as these terms are not typically used together.
5- The date of signature (October 8, 2019) corresponds to the Hijri date (February 9, 1441), which is the 9th of Safar, while the “Date Issued” field states 12/2/1441, or the 12th of Safar, indicating a clear discrepancy.
6- The document uses seals and signatures taken from a forged document previously published in 2017.

A rumor has been circulating on social media claiming that “the Saturday holiday will be canceled, and there will be only one day off per week—Friday—starting January 1, 2027.”
#The_Truth:
The rumor circulating about the cancellation of the Saturday holiday in Iraq—and the replacement of the weekly day off with Friday only, starting January 1, 2027—is false, as no official announcement has been issued by any government agency regarding such a decision.
We verified the circulating report using keywords in search engines, and found no reliable source to support this claim. Furthermore, no news regarding this matter has been published on the official accounts of the Prime Minister’s Media Office or Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi. Likewise, none of the local media outlets—whether official or unofficial—have covered this story.
Referring to the Official Holidays Law No. 12 of 2024, we find that Article 1, Paragraph (1), explicitly states that Friday and Saturday are official public holidays in Iraq, Therefore, the weekend is established by law and can only be abolished through an amendment to the law, which must be submitted to the Council of Representatives for a vote.

An announcement regarding the updating of applicant information on the Social Safety Net was circulated via the Telegram app, accompanied by details claiming that the update process involves filling out an online form in exchange for a fee.
#The_Truth:
The form being circulated is fake and fraudulent; it is part of a hoax claiming that applications to update applicant data on the Social Protection Network are being reviewed in exchange for a fee, nor does it originate from any of the official pages or websites of the “Muzlati” platform, which is affiliated with the Social Protection Authority.
Upon verifying the claim using keywords in search engines, we found no reliable source to support it. Furthermore, the official accounts of the “Muzlati” platform or the Social Protection Authority have not published any similar announcement on social media or official websites, and no media outlet, whether official or unofficial, reported similar news regarding the Authority.
Upon accessing the alleged form, it became clear that it was created using “Google Forms,” and after filling out the first form, the ad’s publisher claims that those whose names appear on the list of accepted applicants must pay a fee to generate a barcode for updating their information.
The form also asks citizens to enter sensitive personal information, including full name, date of birth, phone number, religion, and residential information; therefore, we advise against entering or sharing any personal information via this link, as it is unofficial and was not issued by any relevant government agency.
Therefore, the “Tech4Peace” team warns against posts containing links to fake forms, which are used to exploit applicants’ data, whether for fraudulent purposes or other purposes that may cause them harm.

A video has been circulating on social media accompanied by text stating, “The Iranian president is having difficulty reading the Holy Quran, amid laughter and mockery from former President Hassan Rouhani.”
#The_Truth:
The circulating video, which purports to show Iranian President Masoud Bazshkan struggling to read the Quran, is fake; it has been determined that the video was edited from footage showing a young man struggling to read the Quran.

The video shows two young men, one of whom is attempting to read the Quran; the account owner also posted other clips featuring the same two individuals.
Several indicators suggest that the video is fake and has been edited using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. The most notable of these are unnatural changes in facial features—such as the shape of the eyes or mouth—as well as a lack of synchronization between speech and lip movement, as well as illogical movements and distortions in the fingers, teeth, or background, along with changes in certain elements from one frame to the next.

A video circulated on social media accompanied by the caption “Attack on Netanyahu in Tel Aviv.”

A video circulated on social media accompanied by the caption: “A Tashreen activist: ‘We are the Ba’athists, we are the Saddamists, and by God, we will not hand over Iraq.’”
#The_Truth:
The circulating video, which purports to show a female activist from Tishreen repeating: “We are the Ba’ath Party, we are Saddam’s supporters, and by God, we will not give up Iraq,” is misleading. It turns out that the video is old, dating back to July 2019, and shows a woman from Kirkuk glorifying Saddam Hussein and the Ba’ath Party during a protest in the city.
We verified the video by conducting a reverse image search on several frames from it, and found that it was posted on social media accounts on July 12, 2019. The video shows a woman from Kirkuk glorifying Saddam Hussein and the Ba’ath Party during a demonstration in the city, holding up a sign “We are Ba’athists and supporters of Saddam.” Subsequently, a judicial arrest warrant was issued against her on charges of glorifying Saddam Hussein and the Ba’ath Party during the protests that took place in Kirkuk Governorate.
Therefore, the video does not show an activist from the October protests, as it was filmed in July 2019, before the “October protests” began in October of the same year.

A photo has been circulating on social media accompanied by the following text: “This person in the center of the photo is with ISIS; yesterday, he was calling for the government to be overthrown in Tahrir Square.”
#The_Truth:
The circulating photo, which purports to show a person affiliated with ISIS participating in a commemoration of the October protests, is fake. It has been altered using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, and the original photo shows a different person—not the one claimed.
We examined the image using specialized image analysis tools, and the results showed that it is not authentic, as it was generated using AI technology to a high degree.
We also examined the image using OpenAI’s analysis tool, which confirmed that it was created using the company’s tools; it contains a SynthID watermark associated with AI-generated content.
We conducted a reverse image search on the circulating image and found that the original image, which shows a group of ISIS members, was published on several news websites; it does not show the person who appeared in Baghdad’s Tahrir Square, as claimed.
We also found a video clip showing the person who was claimed to be an ISIS member participating in a commemoration of the October protests in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad, where he was being interviewed by a media outlet. and upon comparing his facial features with those of the person in the original photo, clear differences are evident between them, confirming that the circulating photo does not depict the same person.
The circulation of this false news coincides with demonstrations in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, today, Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Tahrir Square and the area surrounding Al-Ummah Park, to mark the seventh anniversary of the October protests that began in 2019, The area saw a heavy security presence and measures to regulate the movement of protesters, who gathered in Tahrir Square carrying Iraqi flags.
