What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

#Democrats voters, would you prefer this or open borders that allow rapists and drug deals into your neighborhoods? #Midterms2026
Under President Trump and Republicans, we have achieved: ✅ The most secure border in American history ✅ The largest drop in violent crime ever recorded ✅ Secured commitments for $22.2 trillion in new investments

Fantastic reporting by @nytimes @Kellen_Browning on Alaska Senate race. Extraordinarily great writing too. Will impact the race, I believe. A lot of people seem to have reacted to being exposed by lying. The reckoning will be ugly for @MaryPeltola nytimes.com/2026/10/28/us/po…

By my non-lawyer understanding of the law, Anne Arundel County Maryland giving undocumented individuals priority for housing assistance and other benefits is likely not legal under federal law. Governing Federal Law: PRWORA / 8 U.S.C. § 1621 The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA) restricts public benefits for noncitizens. Under 8 U.S.C. § 1621(a), an alien who is not a “qualified alien,” nonimmigrant, or short-term parolee is generally ineligible for any State or local public benefit. “State or local public benefit” is defined broadly in § 1621(c) to include welfare, housing, or similar assistance provided to an individual, household, or family by a state/local agency or with appropriated state/local funds. Rental arrears, utility payments, security deposits, and related cash-equivalent assistance under this program fit that definition.Law.cornell The key exception is § 1621(d): A state may make non-lawfully present aliens eligible for a state or local public benefit only through a state law enacted after August 22, 1996, that affirmatively provides for such eligibility. Courts (including interpretations applied to California statutes) have required explicit language authorizing benefits for undocumented aliens—not silence, general residency rules, or the mere absence of a citizenship requirement. Other limited exceptions in § 1621(b) (emergency medical care, short-term non-cash disaster relief, certain public health measures, and specified in-kind community services) do not cover multi-month rental/utility assistance of this type. Maryland’s official FAQ confirms that proof of citizenship is not required and that eligibility turns on renter status and school enrollment rather than immigration status. Anne Arundel County’s guidelines go further by listing “those with undocumented or mixed immigration/citizenship status” as one of the priority categories (alongside homelessness, eviction risks, and utility shutoffs) when funds are limited.Aacounty Maryland has enacted explicit post-1996 laws authorizing certain benefits for undocumented residents in other areas (e.g., the Maryland Dream Act for in-state tuition). No equivalent affirmative authorization appears for this rental assistance program. Providing the benefit—and prioritizing undocumented or mixed-status households for it—therefore conflicts with the federal restriction in § 1621. Prioritization of undocumented status could also raise Equal Protection issues under the Fourteenth Amendment if it disenfranchises US citizens and/or other categories of those seeking benefits. Local administrative guidelines cannot override the federal statutory bar; the required authorization must come from state legislation that affirmatively provides eligibility. In short, without a Maryland statute that explicitly authorizes eligibility for aliens not lawfully present under § 1621(d), both the extension of this rental assistance to undocumented households and the county’s prioritization of them appear to violate federal law. @HarmeetKDhillon @DOJRR47
Anne Arundel County, Maryland, explicitly gives undocumented households priority for taxpayer-funded housing assistance covering rent, utility bills, security deposits and moving costs. The county’s published rules identify priority households as including: “those with undocumented or mixed immigration/citizenship status.” That language appears directly on the county government’s application page. Other priority categories include homelessness, eviction proceedings and disconnected utilities. The Community Schools Rental Assistance Program can pay for: • Overdue rent. • Electricity, gas, water and internet bills. • Security deposits and first month’s rent. • Moving expenses. • Certain late fees and eviction-related court fees. Maryland’s official FAQ says proof of citizenship is not required. Eligible households can receive repeat assistance, including up to three months of future rent or utilities at a time, with an overall maximum of 15 months. Governor Wes Moore’s office says the statewide program’s FY2027 budget increased from $5 million to $11 MILLION.

This is insanity. @MattWalshBlog So, What is a male?
🚨ALERT: The editors of the journal Men and Masculinities will no longer allow authors to refer to individuals as being "male." If an author uses the term, they should "specify which dimension(s) of sex are at issue, since sex itself refers to several only loosely correlated dimensions rather than a single underlying fact." For example, trans-identifying male swimmer Lia Thomas must be referred to as a woman, and his maleness, if mentioned at all, must be attached to specific traits, like genitals, hormones, and chromosomes. You cannot call Lia Thomas a "male" in this journal, but a woman with "male genitals" and "male sex chromosomes." The first author of this editorial—the Managing Editor of Men and Masculinities, Tristen Kade—is a woman who identifies as a man. The model of biological sex this editorial is pushing is what I refer to in my scholarly article "Why There Are Exactly Two Sexes" as the "multi-level" sex model. This model is not merely wrong—it is self-refuting. From my article: "Traits are labeled 'male-typical' or 'female-typical' only because they correlate with organisms already identified as male or female—an identification that, in anisogamous species, is made ultimately by reference to gametes." We join Star Trek fans in mourning the loss of actor Walter Koenig. He joined the cast of the original Star Trek television series in its second season as Russian navigator Pavel Chekov, a key member of the Enterprise crew. Koenig portrayed Chekov in two seasons of the original series and all six of the original series major motion pictures.

This sounds fascist to me and isn't be a fascist exactly what the Democrats are accusing Trump of?
NEW: Robert Reich calls for the "defunding" of Elon Musk, calls for Democrats to go after Musk's companies. "Democrats ought to [start] laying the groundwork for nationalizing Starlink & SpaceX... It should be a public corporation." Does he want Musk to drop another $50M on the midterms?

Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen. I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn. And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.

This is not what any school should be teaching.
Rep Sara Jacobs celebrates students who staged anti-ICE walksouts during schools and said she sat down with elementary kids and discussed ICE Why is a school bringing in a politician to groom 7-year-olds to hate ICE?! Very alarming

You've probably seen the video. A young Frenchwoman in Paris, in tears, begging looters to stop. "Why are you doing this? That's not what we stand for." Some accounts are mocking her. "She voted for it." I won't. Because what you see on her face is not stupidity. It's a disease that has infected the entire West, and it has a name: suicidal empathy. The term comes from Gad Saad, an evolutionary behavioral scientist at Concordia University in Montreal. A man who fled the Lebanese civil war as a child, and who knows what it looks like when a society falls apart. His new book, Suicidal Empathy: Dying to Be Kind, is the follow-up to The Parasitic Mind. Here is the thesis, and why it concerns every one of us. Empathy is one of the best things about us. It evolved for a reason: to care for our children, our kin, our tribe. It was calibrated for a world where the people you felt for were the people around you, and where empathy always came paired with its counterweight: the instinct to protect your own and to recognize a threat. Suicidal empathy is what happens when that mechanism misfires. When it fires at the wrong targets, in the wrong amounts, with no brake. When we feel more for the criminal than for his victim. More for the stranger who breaks the rules than for the citizen who follows them. More for how compassionate we look than for what our compassion actually produces. Where does it come from? Four layers. First, biology. Empathy is a spotlight, as the psychologist Paul Bloom put it. It lights up the one face in front of you and leaves everything else in the dark. The crying migrant on the boat is visible. The thousands of future victims of a broken system are statistics. A spotlight is a terrible tool for running a country. Second, our own civilization. The West is the civilization that put the victim at the center of its morality. Christianity taught us to care for the stranger, the poor, the weak. It was one of the greatest moral revolutions in history. But cut off from its other half, justice, responsibility, the duty to protect your own, it turns into something else. Third, ideology. In The Parasitic Mind, Saad described idea pathogens, ideas that hijack our reasoning. Suicidal empathy is the emotional counterpart: an ideology that hijacks our compassion. It sorts the world into oppressors and victims, then demands unlimited empathy for whoever ranks as the victim, whatever they do. Fourth, status. In the age of social media, empathy has become a display. Posting "refugees welcome" costs nothing and earns applause. The bill goes to someone else: the working class, the suburbs, the women walking home at night. The results are everywhere. Criminals treated as victims of society. Sexual assaults by migrants met with lenient sentences. Self-defense branded as aggression. Borders treated as cruelty. Saad's conclusion is simple: a society dies when it would rather display infinite tolerance than use its survival instinct. Now the part I'll add myself, and that few people dare to say. On average, women score higher than men on measures of empathy. It's one of the most consistent findings in psychology, across cultures, and it makes perfect evolutionary sense: for most of human history, the survival of children depended on it. It's a strength. But it means an ideology that weaponizes empathy will hit women harder. And the data shows it: in country after country, young women have moved sharply to the left of young men, especially on immigration. This is where men have a responsibility. Not to mock. Not to lecture. Not to say "she deserved it." Empathy has always needed a counterweight, and that counterweight was the protective instinct: the one that draws lines, says no, and stands between the threat and the people it loves. Men abandoned that role. They were told it was toxic, and many believed it. So they stayed silent at the dinner table, at work, with their partners, sisters, daughters and friends. That has to end. Men have to have this conversation, honestly and with respect: compassion that cannot say no is not compassion. It's surrender. And the first to pay for it are women. Many women already understand this better than anyone. Some of the bravest voices in this fight are women, precisely because they are the first to feel the danger in the street. A civilization rests on a balance: compassion and strength, openness and borders, mercy and justice. When one side swallows the other, the foundations crack. What we are watching in Europe is what happens when empathy has no counterweight left. Look at that young woman again. She isn't the enemy. She's what this ideology made of a generation that was told kindness would be enough. Our job is to make sure she's the last generation that has to learn it this way.
She voted for it. She welcomed them. Faced with the encore, she begs them to stop. In her heart she knows they will not. Everything she believed. That they were French like her, fighting for the same cause. That the ones who warned her were full of hate. That she would be safe. It all falls apart in this moment. She is terrified of what comes next. In her heart she knows. Only remigration can save her.

Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has been claiming that last week’s raid on her DC home is nothing but political persecution by a ‘vengeful’ President Trump and is pleading her innocence. Now, we can officially put that nonsense to rest in dramatic fashion. On Wednesday, CNN officially revealed that Justice Department prosecutors first had to go through Judge Matthew Sharbaugh, a federal magistrate judge on the DC District Court. The veneer of being a "moderate" is ripped away by her own words... @ElissaSlotkin wants to teach people to fear exercising their political freedom...she wants to use Soviet style intimidation to chill freedom of speech and freedom of thought...this is the same pattern of Bolshevik politics exhibited by World Famous Space Monkey and daily hand shaver @CaptMarkKelly, and Comrade @MaggieG603 - all former officials of Maoist @BarackObama - who have become radicalized but still try to use the camouflage of being "moderates" to infuse their putrid evil into the American Republic...
Sen. Slotkin, a self-avowed “defender of democracy,” told me and other conservative students that we should live in fear of political persecution if we dare serve our country in the Trump administration. Sadly for her, we will never be intimidated by her Bolshevik-style tactics.

Just so we are all on the same page: Illegals are voting. Illegals are getting free food. Illegals are getting free childcare. Illegals are getting free education. Illegals are getting free tax credits. Illegals are getting free healthcare. Illegals are getting free housing assistance. Illegals are getting free legal representation. Illegals are getting free mental health services. Illegals are getting free college tuition in over a dozen states. It is the most insane scam ever perpetrated on the American people.
