A new PHP vulnerability is in the news. We tested it on our live servers: it can’t be used to take over sites hosted with us, WordPress included. PHP has released a fix, and we’re applying it across all hosting today anyway. No action needed on your side.

Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

Design wise, here's what I mean 👇 One prompt. One skill.md. Opus 5.5. That's all it took to turn my UI work into motion design to present it. No After Effects. No keyframing for hours. Designers, this is how you show your work now 🔥
Guilty 😔 . The products I have built with claude code are production stuff. Design wise. As @mambo_bryan said.. vibe coders ideate and play around. While engineers are paid to debug and create the infrastructure for real world deployment. 10x Engineers have more work to do.

A banking app isn't secure just because it works. Congratulations to Team Kazungu, the Blue Team champions of #JengaSec2026 who took the top spot! Made up of four student innovators, three from Meru University of Science & Technology and one from @DiscoverJKUAT , the team took on the challenge of developing a secure banking app designed to withstand cyberattacks and minimise vulnerabilities. They put into practice a vital lesson shared by Frederick Wahome of the Kenya Cyber Security & Forensics Associations (KCSFA): build security in from day one, not after a problem occurs. Their win is a reminder that great digital solutions must do more than work. They must earn people's trust. Congratulations, Team Kazungu! #JengaSec2026 #Cybersecurity #StudentInnovation @MeruUniversity @kcsfa @SheLeadsTechke @hackthebox_eu @Isaca_kenya @LOOP_KE @NCBABankKenya

This is very close to my heart. The other day when I saw people paying $80k for VPS I got shocked because I run a lot in 1Gb RAM boxes. I’ve trained myself to be efficient. It starts with understanding complexity of algorithms. You need to know what your code is gonna do at 1k rps. Checkout Reduzer.ac.ke. I’d like a future of efficient SDEs.
A feature can work perfectly and still cost too much to run. Reduzer students work through build costs, running costs and what belongs in the first release. I like that they’re learning to think about the business behind the software too. reduzer.ac.ke/curriculum

Interesting times in the Kenyan tech scene. People building and launching their own products, putting themselves out there and finding users. Feels like the beginning of something. The last thing we need is outdated regulation killing it before it takes off.
