Sometimes, the biggest impact of a training is what someone can take away and actually use in their business.

A flood report can tell you how many homes went under water. It can’t tell you what happened to the woman whose farm, shop, and savings went with them. For Ibiso Ikiroma-Owiye, that gap matters. Speaking on Reframing Climate Leadership Through Technology, she reminded us that every climate statistic stands in for real people and real losses. From flooded farmlands in the Middle Belt to eroding communities in the Southeast and drying fields in the North, women are living through Nigeria’s climate crisis every day. How have their lives changed? What have they lost? Who asked them before deciding what comes next? Technology helps us see the problem. The solutions still have to come from going into communities, listening, and giving women real power to shape them. #DARE2026 #ClimateLeadership #ClimateJustice

An early warning system can predict a flood. Getting decision-makers to act on that warning is a different job. On Reframing Climate Leadership Through Technology, Ameedat Adusalam argued that technology strengthens climate leadership but can’t carry it alone. Data helps women leaders understand a problem and build their case. Moving that case into policy takes policy knowledge, the skills to engage decision-makers, and access to funding. Across Nigeria, floods, extreme heat, and failing harvests are already reshaping livelihoods. The women leading the response need more than passion. They need the capacity and backing to turn their ideas into decisions. A seat at the table is only the start. Shaping what happens there takes tools and resources. #DARE2026 #ClimateLeadership #ClimateAction

Whose story gets lost when we talk about climate data? On Reframing Climate Leadership Through Technology, Ken Henshaw pushed us to look past the numbers and ask who carries the heaviest burden of environmental damage in Nigeria. When floods destroy farmland, when drought dries up water sources, when pollution ruins fishing grounds, whole communities suffer. Women often carry a disproportionate share of that loss as farmers, traders, and caregivers. Their experiences easily disappear inside aggregate data. Seeing the full picture means asking the questions numbers can’t answer and making sure women’s experiences count in decisions about climate action. #DARE2026 #ClimateLeadership #ClimateJustice

Our SheTrades Digital project covers a range of digital skills, but sometimes, the impact shows up in one simple thing a woman learns to do. For one of our beneficiaries, it was learning how to create a group chat for her business. One new skill. One new way for her business to grow. Because digital empowerment isn't only about learning how to use technology; it's about discovering practical ways to put it to work in your everyday life. And sometimes, the little things make a real difference. you're a female trader or entrepreneur, the SheTrades Digital Project is for you! A job application mistake is not consent to public humiliation. Sharing an applicant’s identifiable photo without their permission, then inviting the internet to laugh at them, is a breach of digital privacy and dignity. Digital consent means people get a say in how their images and personal information are shared. An opportunity to learn should never become content to shame someone. Learn more about digital consent here: xitter.cf/techherng/status/19407… #DigitalConsent #DigitalRights
As a jobseeker, it is very important that you always check the documents you upload before sending your application 🤌🏾🤌🏾. See what an applicant sent in 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

This conversation around Stephee’s birthday post is a reminder that online harm doesn’t always begin with the person sending the abuse. Sometimes, it begins when a post is amplified to a much wider audience without considering what that attention might invite. You may quote someone as a joke or make a comment without anticipating the consequences. However, once you realise that your amplification is exposing someone to unwanted attention or harm, you have a responsibility to reconsider your actions. @pretty_stephee We’re sorry you’re experiencing this. Sharing a birthday post should be a moment of joy, not an invitation to be bullied or humiliated online. You deserve to celebrate yourself without fear of ridicule or harassment. Please prioritise your safety and mental health by blocking and reporting the vile posts. If you want further support to help you through the violence you’ve experienced send us a message via kuramng.org

Does technology contribute to climate stress? At our national climate convening, our panel session “Reframing Climate Leadership Through Technology” examined how technology can support climate action, from improving access to environmental information to helping communities respond to changing conditions. The conversation also highlighted the need to make these solutions accessible and ensure women, young people, and persons with disabilities have a meaningful role in shaping the decisions that affect their futures.

Ultimately, technology is a tool, not the entire solution. What matters is how we use it to make climate action more inclusive, practical, and responsive to people’s needs. #DARE2026 #ClimateAction #ClimateLeadership #DigitalInclusion

As AI reshapes how we live, work, and innovate, Africa’s place in that future depends on the infrastructure we build and the choices we make today. Our Executive Director, Chioma Agwuegbo (@ChiomaChuka) , will be speaking at Build 2026, hosted by the Nigeria AI Collective (@aicollectiveng) . She will join the conversation on what it takes to build that future on the continent. #Build2026 #NigeriaAICollective #TechHerNG

Over the years, TechHer has built its identity around advancing digital inclusion, promoting digital rights, and creating safer online spaces for women and girls. Our work is grounded in these commitments, and the trust we have built with our communities is not something to be used to create false associations or advance agendas we do not support. The unauthorised use of branding resembling TechHer’s in connection with political activities raises serious concerns about misinformation and the deliberate misrepresentation of our organisation. Such actions risk misleading the public about who we are, what we stand for, and the work we do. We urge the public to exercise discernment when engaging with such content. Please verify information about TechHer, our activities, and our positions through our official social media platforms before accepting or sharing claims attributed to us. Do not assume that the use of a familiar name or similar branding is proof of an official association. Protecting the integrity of our work begins with ensuring that our name represents only the values, commitments, and activities we genuinely stand for. #TechHerNG #DigitalRights #OnlineSafety

What kind of online culture are we creating with the things we post, share, and celebrate? And how do we keep the internet safe for the people who use it? At #DARE2026, Our Executive Director, Chioma Agwuegbo (@ChiomaChuka) and M.I, Mr Incredible, sat down for conversation about creativity, influence, and the way we show up online. The internet is part of how we express ourselves, share ideas, build communities, and engage with the world. But it also shapes what we consider acceptable, whose voices get heard, and how we respond to issues that affect us. The music we listen to, the jokes we laugh at, the content we share, and the conversations we choose to engage in all play a part in shaping that culture.

Building a better digital culture doesn’t mean taking the fun out of the internet. It means being more intentional about the kind of fun we create, the ideas we spread, and the impact we leave behind. Because creativity comes with influence, and influence comes with responsibility. The conversation was a reminder that We have to pay attention to what we create, what we encourage, and what we allow to go unchallenged. #TechHeratDARE #DARE2026 #Youthpower #DigitalSafety

DAY 1 of #DARE2026 ended with a closing tea conversation with Mr Incredible. The conversation wasn’t about music, but about digital safety. In a world where digital platforms shape opinions, influence behaviour, and create endless opportunities, we need to ensure that the culture we build online is one that promotes creativity, responsibility, and positive impact. The goal is not just to be seen or heard, but to create content that inspires, educate and empowers. #DAREConference #DigitalSafety #YouthPower @MI_Abaga

At #DARE2026, our panel on “Reframing Climate Leadership Through Technology,” moderated by Tsema Ede, explored why tech alone isn't enough to drive climate action. Key takeaways: Ameedat Abdulsalam: Participation doesn't always mean influence. Young people need resources and policy literacy, not just passion. Technology alone won't get us where we need to go. Jennifer Abomnger: Climate communication must meet people where they are. Information only matters when people can access and understand it. Ibiso Ikiroma-Owiye: Young people must use the tools available to them to inspire change. Ken Henshaw: Data is not neutral. We must question who collects it, who controls it, and who gets excluded—especially across rural and urban communities. The lesson? Technology must work alongside inclusive policies, accessible information, resources, and accountability to deliver meaningful climate action. It's not just about the tools we have, but who they serve. #DAREConference #ClimateAction #ClimateLeadership #YouthPower #DARE2026
