🚨🇩🇰🇷🇺 Six weeks ago, Danish intelligence warned about a Russian espionage tactic.
Today, prosecutors revealed a case that appears to follow the same playbook.
On 5 September, Denmark's intelligence service (PET) warned that Russian intelligence was recruiting individuals through platforms such as Telegram to photograph defence companies, buildings and access points.
Such reconnaissance could potentially be used to prepare sabotage operations.
Now, on 20 October, two men aged 18 and 21 have been charged in an alleged Russian intelligence operation targeting MyDefence - a Danish company producing counter-drone technology supplied to Ukraine, NATO and allied militaries.
According to prosecutors:
• The suspects allegedly photographed MyDefence's facilities on 19 October.
• They allegedly operated alongside several unidentified accomplices.
• The photographs were reportedly forwarded to a user on Telegram.
• A third individual reportedly remains at large.
The similarities to PET's warning are striking.
But one crucial question remains: What were the photographs intended for?
There is currently no public confirmation that sabotage was being planned.
Both suspects deny the charges.
🚨🇩🇰 🇷🇺 BREAKING: RUSSIAN INTELLIGENCE IMPLICATED IN ESPIONAGE CASE TARGETING DANISH DEFENCE COMPANY
Two young men, aged 18 and 21, have been arrested in Denmark and charged in an espionage investigation involving a Russian intelligence service.
According to DR and TV 2, the case concerns alleged espionage targeting a Danish defence company.
• Both suspects were arrested on 19 October and appeared before Aalborg District Court today.
• Prosecutors have charged both under Section 108 of Denmark's Criminal Code, concerning assistance to foreign intelligence services.
• Denmark's domestic intelligence service (PET) is participating in the investigation.
• A third individual reportedly remains at large.
• The involvement of a Russian intelligence service was disclosed during today's court hearing, according to both DR and TV2 Nord.
Both suspects deny the charges.
The identity of the defence company, the nature of the alleged intelligence operation and the role of the Russian service have not yet been publicly disclosed.
⚓ Why it matters:
Russia is blurring commercial and military shipping. Russian-flagged freighters are harder for foreign states to board than many shadow-fleet vessels.
Add naval escorts and suspected fake IDs. Maritime expert @Michellewb_ calls it “the new normal”.

The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center has confirmed mission success! They also confirmed it was indeed a Minotaur I rocket with a MK21A Reentry Vehicle from Lockheed Martin. This was the second such test, after a previous launch in 2024. Sadly they did not provide any pictures.
And LAUNCH of Northrop Grumman's Minotaur rocket with "MK21-2B" at 07:43 UTC from Vandenberg!
This likely is a Minotaur I "Lite" version carrying a MK21A Reentry Vehicle from Lockheed Martin for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Centre.

🚨🚨🚨 The 🇷🇺 Russian shadow fleet keeps leaving environmental disasters in its wake.
The sanctioned tanker 🇨🇲 CAROLINE BEZENGI (IMO 9224439), which ran aground off 🇴🇲 Oman in June, is now reportedly breaking up, causing a massive oil spill along the southwestern shores of Jazirat Al Qibliyyah.
🛰️ Satellite imagery has tracked the slick spreading for at least two weeks.
⚠️ Sanctions mean little if these aging tankers are still allowed to keep sailing.
🚨🚨🚨 The sanctioned tanker 🇨🇲 CAROLINE BEZENGI (IMO 9224439), carrying Russian crude, reportedly suffered explosions off the coast of 🇾🇪 Yemen.
💥 Security sources suggest a possible sabotage attack, with limpet mines considered a likely method. No group has claimed responsibility so far.
⚠️ Notably, this would be the second reported attack on the vessel, which was reportedly struck by Yemeni forces on 26 Aug 2024.

🚨🚨🚨 The Russian frigate 🇷🇺 NEUSTRASHIMY, which departed Baltiysk on 1 July, was spotted by Sky News on 15 July in the southern North Sea.
The vessel providing fuel and supplies is 🇷🇺 PM-82, the same support ship that has been sustaining 🇷🇺 ADMIRAL GRIGOROVICH during its prolonged deployment in the English Channel over recent months.

‼️ Dutch intelligence services are being accused of training their own AI on bulk datasets holding millions of citizens' records including sets they bought from breach leaks, according to digital rights group Bits of Freedom.
The Dutch intelligence oversight body says the intelligence services broke the law handling these bulk datasets. Too many staff had unlawful access, data was kept past legal limits, and the services used datasets leaked by hackers.
The Dutch intelligence law is up for revision this year, with public consultation expected in August. Bits of Freedom says the services want oversight weakened.
